Football. We are so close. Playing competitive. Feels like we belong. We beat MSU in East Lansing. We came close to and really should have beat Providence and Wake who it turns out are amongst the top teams in their conference and likely headed to the tourney. So close against Michigan, Illinois, etc...

Will one more year put us over the top? If Nance comes back, I think so. Maybe get a solid transfer. This team just needs to close things out. But, they are competitive and are so close. Like Football 1994.

I feel a lot better about where the hoops program is than where our football program is quite frankly. There is hope.

Football 1994 was followed by a terrible loss in 1995 to a MAC team in the second game of the season. Such a disappointment. I don’t remember much of the season after that…

Yeah, they had a huge lead in that game but couldn't finish. Just like NU basketball......

I'm not sure about Providence; I remember them being in control for most of the game, and the 'Cats had a late run to make it seem closer than it was.

I was at that game. Providence raced out to an 8-point lead after I think just three minutes of game time. And from there on out it was an even contest, could just never quite get close enough to really put game pressure on them.

Providence had an 18-point lead in the 2nd half.

No there's not any hope. Have you been watching? Things are not going to change. We had a chance this year and blew it, bigtime. Coaching change is the only thing that could salvage the future, and I'd be willing to wait a few years, even if it means transfermania.
