Last weeks pick was a tough loss, but that's part of picking upsets. You can't be right every week. This weeks pick is a lock. I'm picking against one of my favorite coaches in the state, but an upset is an upset. This weeks pick is.................the #17 and 4-2 Hilltoppers of Glenbard West over the undefeated #6 ranked Huskies of Oak Park River Forest. Coach John Hoerster has done an amazing job at OPRF. He learned his trade from 2 of the masters, his father John and Coach Lenti. But........ This week belongs to GW. Going into Duchon is always tough, but going there after back to back losses is impossible. I can only imagine what Coach Hetlet has up his sleeve for this week. This team is just too good to lose 3 in a row. Glenbard West rings the bell tomorrow afternoon. Final score.......GW 35 - OPRF 17. That's this weeks upset. What are your thoughts, and who is your upset?

P.S.

I can already hear the "This is not an upset" B.S. Undefeated #6 is always the favorite over a 2 loss #17 team.

The streak has to end sometime. I'm going with NT over MS.

That would be some shocker, especially with Thornridge's 5-1 record coming at the expense of 6 prior opponents that are a combined 8-29. Anyway ... athletically and physically, this would be a season they might match up with an H-F, but at the 1st string level only. However, Thornridge can be counted on to produce multiple episodes in a game of pre-snap miscues like:
  • too much time
  • 10 or 12 men on the field (esp. on special teams)
  • burning timeouts early in a half as the result of the above
  • defensive encroachment
  • illegal formation, motion, procedure, etc.
The one "capable" team Thornridge played (4-2 LWC in Week 5), administered a 54-20 beating IN DOLTON.

What ever gave you the feeling I wasn't true blue in Illinois? I have a huge amount of love and respect for the coaches, families and boys at Naz!

Now in PA it's a different story. All Red and White here!

Dear lord, there is a god. This is the momentum turn we needed. Now if I can just avoid @DeanOfSelection dropping a t*rd on this pick, I can get some sleep tonight.

Man they came close. Palatine game ended early due to running clock and I was able to get over to HE for the 4th quarter. HE QB was having a phenomenal day, but threw a pic with less than 4 minutes to go..sooo close
