Hard to find an upset. Most games are either coin flips or appear to be some pretty large point spreads. Massey page doesn’t even have all the games.

I’ll take R-B over Byron, but I don’t necessarily feel great about it.

I don't really have a good one but I'll say Belvidere North over SF. Up in Rockford area on a Sat afternoon against a 3 option team. If SF doesn't get out of the gate strong and make them chase it could be interesting. I could also see SF winning by two/three scores. Also, depends on health of Blue Thunder RB.

Just going off the consensus of what is spoken here.
Ok--fair enough. Not everyone believes that, though. Batavia's a damn good team, and Rita will have to earn this victory by playing their best.

Rita has done very well in the playoffs against public schools, but losses to Rochester and Wheaton North are examples that every team should not be taken lightly. Btw, '19 Rochester was an outstanding team and '21 Wheaton North (before beating Rita) knocked out a very good BR team the week before, I believe.

Someone's gotta try it - so I will - Fremd shocks Mt Carmel in an old style RB-JCA circa 2001 shootout. Over/Under = 90. Go ahead and roast me.
Just last week, MC exposed--demeaned, debased, and degraded--a so-called generational quarterback, and no one in the state of Illinois seriously believes that they won't do it again. At least, as an out-of-stater, you have that as an excuse. However, as a Nazarene, you must remember the last time that the Caravan completely stifled a high-caliber quarterback. And the stats were eerily similar to those against LWE: Five sacks, lopsided score, and less than 200 yards of total offense. How quickly they forget.

It's truly amazing the size and the fragility of the ego of the CCL fan base. You're the greatest conference in the state until someone picks against you and then it's, "look what we just did against so and so". You're like SEC fans. You have all these "rivals" until the playoffs and then it turns into look how great our conference is.

The guy said to roast him, and I tried to oblige him. I doubt that he will be as offended as some other parties.

CCL fans are like brothers that don’t get along. We might bicker all the time, but come playoff time, if somebody from outside the family has a problem with one of us, they have a problem with all of us…🤣

This is intensified even more with the Southside Catholics. We may have gone to different high schools, but we all have roots in the same neighborhoods. People on the outside just don’t understand.

You do realize the LW-East QB was not at 100%, hence why he was not running more? You do also realize LW-East had serious injury trouble at other positions? Come on man with your "a so-called generational quarterback"
You will see Jonas in the NFL one day and Dowling will be in the stands watching.

Keep recruiting all over the midwest Mount Carmel. Every State Championship, in my mind and others, has an * next to it.

Don’t pull the recruiting card, forgot Libertyville/Bollingbrook/Plainfield fall within LWE school district.

A couple of kids want to do better and play for a top public football program in the state so they choose to go to LW-East to better themselves?
You will never win the Public vs Private recruiting argument.

This has to be the most accurate description of the Catholic League I’ve ever read. It’s pretty obvious when you see an MC guy defending Rita against some random new fan from a random school who has a good year and is angry after getting beat. It’s like every single year on here. I think I’ve been reading this board for 25 years and the only thing that’s changed is… well nothing. lol. Groundhog Day on Edgytim.

The only part I didn't like was the out of stater reference. I've lived in Illinois 61 of my 62 years, and resided in Palatine (Fremd's hometown) since 1988. :)

Simmer down now! 😂. He wanted to be roasted. People say the CCL fans are sensitive, CCL says everyone else is sensitive. Everyone is sensitive this time of year. In the words of the great SNL bit, Simmer down naw!

Dear Lord, SIMMER DOWN NAW! Getting ridiculous. You are just as bad as CCL fans who are gloating with all the pouting. Williams is an amazing talent with a real nice NIL deal that he worked hard to get and he got his butt whipped last week. Blame his WRs that dropped about 4 of his passes that would have kept drives alive, don't blame his ankle because his Ankle looked fine when he was running around scrambling. It's football, it happens and it will happen to him again at SC or wherever he ends up as these can't miss recruits can't sit still with the transfer portal.

Libertyville went 5-4. How would they have done if their top WR didn't bail? It's OK when it benefits your team but not others. SMH. So many hypocritical statements, but it's nearing the end of the season so these things happen. Finger pointing time. If LWE would have beat MC it would have been because they were better but they didn't so let's pull the old recruit card. Stale bread.

I think in the Libertyville case, LaVista had a superstar QB last year, Quinn Schambow, who threw for 3500+ yards in 2024. Once he was gone I'm thinking he assumed they wouldn't have another one of those waiting in the wings and it made sense for him to go somewhere with another superstar QB.

I just get tired of the jabs at the LW-East QB.

I thought the CCL schedule as so far superior that a 4 loss Rita is better than any 2 loss public school.
oh cut the sophistry no one said rita is "better than any 2 loss public school" due to their schedule. posters rightfully point out that in many matchups a 4 loss ccl can beat a 1 or 2 loss public thanks to the SOS, rita beat 1 loss LWC last week. no one says **** like you just posted. don't think anyone has said rita over batavia was a gimme

The NCAA and IHSA would both be better without the SEC and CCL respectively.

Belvidere over stf.
