I need a win this week to take my season record to .500 and stay in the playoff hunt. If last week was the "Week of the upset", this week is the "Week of I have no clue who to pick". But I must pick a game, so here we go............For this weeks upset we travel to the Western Burbs and the DuPage Valley Conference. This week I pick the unranked, 3-4 Mustangs of Metea Valley over the #21 ranked Panthers of Glenbard North. I must admit I'm no guru when it comes to western burbs football, but I've done some homework on this one. Metea had a tough start to the season, losing 3 of their first 4 games, but the tide is turning in Aurora. They have been led by a very strong defense, giving up only 12 points per game over their past 4 weeks. GN had a similar start to their season, dropping their first 2 games, and then going 5-0 since. This game is going to come down to defense, and I like what's happening at Metea. Final score in this one.......Metea Valley 21 - Glenbard North 17. That's my upset. What are your thoughts, and who is your upset?

I almost took Marist.............but that would be going to the well for the 3rd time this year. I guess I am a Marist Redhawkskin fan deep down inside. I was also really tempted to go with Iggi this week. I love what Coach OC is doing with the "Smart Kids".
This is a big game for both teams - for Marist yes they beat ND but they need another marquee win to get their seed up and show they are more than just a decent team. Naz will either be flat or very angry coming into this game. If Naz blows Marist out then I fear Marist will get crushed by JC in the final week and limp into the playoffs at 5-4 and get a HF or LA or Huntley in the first round
I dunno...GN seems like they are on the kind of roll that takes them deep in 7A.
My upset pick is one few will recognize (or care) but I see Morton, not far from a goose egg season and coming off a huge AT win, taking out a not so great Leyden team that had a couple of very close calls against AT, LT and beat DGS.
Leyden may not be that good but Morton hasn't been favored in a football game in years.

Feeto, my upset pick should be no surprise to many. Hinsdale South over Hinsdale Central. I know that is a tall order for South. But they have been playing well since their disappointing loss week 4 to a scrappy Willowbrook team.
South the playmakers on both sides of the ball to play with anyone. The question is can they put it all together in a big game for 4 quarters?

Oohh. I did not get it. No I meant scrappy. Believe it or not, WB is a little better that you might think. They have a scrappy team. Still, no excuse for HS losing to them.I'm going with:
