Another week in the books, and another upset win for Me. Sorry OPRF....... Business, not personal. This week we go to the ESCC for our weekly upset of.........The Redwings of Benet Academy over the #9 ranked Redhawks of Marist. Both of these teams are playing great ball right now, with each of them working on a 6 game win streak. I see a lot of points being scored tonight, as both offenses are averaging over 30 points per game. The question in this one is, who's going to play some defense. Benet has only given up 2 scores per game during this 6 game win streak, and I look for them to bend but not break tonight. The Marist (Hawkskins) will move the ball well on their home field, but I think the Redwings will come out on top. Final score in this one...........Benet 42 - Marist 35. That's my upset. What are your thoughts, and who is your upset?

MCC over NDCP. Must win game for the Hurricanes to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Agree with Benet over Marist, don't agree with the score. thinking in the range of 24 - 21. Think this one will actually come down to special teams, whichever team doesn't have a T/O and limits craziness against on ST wins.

Rita over Rice!
Hopefully Rice isn't looking past Rita to Loyola (trap game perhaps?) Rita has a lot to play for - if they win then they're playoff eligible without having to worry about going on road next week. Rice is probably the better team but again anything can happen. A Rice win and then a lot of pressure on Rita. Plus I think that would make Badke 6-1 vs Rita.

I'll second this, the injury plagued Broncos find inspiration from Johnny tonight and pull off the upset. Hoping for an Orange sky tonight!

18 State Championships collide in Lombard tonight!!

I'm just hoping we can stay within 3 touchdowns of Mt. Carmel. Montini has it's problems when playing these top tier CCL Blue teams including Loyola, BR and I would add Mt. Carmel tonight (Providence way back under coach Seffner). You can see these teams are just on another level than Montini likely due to them being much larger enrollment private schools.

They already took a beating from a previous CCL Blue member earlier this year being Fenwick.

I don't think Montini's OL and DL will be able to match up with Mt. Carmel allowing the MC running backs to get into the second level (DB's) and when this happens the MC backs will break a few of these tackles into touchdowns.

Both Montini running backs Walker (likely out for the entire season) and Smith are not playing today due to injuries.

Tough time for a game tonight also with Coach A's mother passing away yesterday.

Mt. Carmel has over 2100 students compared to Montini's 1000 (approx) according to IHSA website. The line play will tell the difference in this game as usual. Bigger linemen on both sides of the ball for Mt. Carmel. Montini's only hope is it's over all speed and athletic talent which could make a difference in the outcome. Hoping that Bronco's will utilize some good play calling to go along with a new running back replacement. Also would like to see some inspired play by the entire Broncos team in honor of Coach A's mother who passed this week.

I think Gene's using the football multiplier. The actual is....

650 boys for MC, 350 boys for Montini. MC almost twice the size
I was using the IHSA website but didn't realize that it included a multiplier. Thanks for your input.

Voodoo: I never like to post predictions on the forum but had a feeling that despite Mt. Carmel being the heavy favorite (2 TD dog) Montini would come out fired up and that came true. Great game for both of the well coached teams. Both teams played lights out and it was a real thrill to be at the game.
