It's week 2 of the playoffs, and the upset picks aren't getting ant easier. It seems like I've picked a lot of games involving Chicago Catholic teams this year, well I speak of what I know. With that in mind, my upset for this week is......... In 7a, the #25 ranked Mustangs of St. Rita over the #11 ranked North Stars of St. Charles North. It's going to be a tough task for the Mustangs making the trip out to St. Chuck without QB 1, Zyiman, but Rita has a great offense. It looks like QB 2, Ekern is a go for the Mustangs, and this kid can also run the offense for SR. SCN can really put points on the board, averaging well over 30 per game. I see lots of points being scored tomorrow afternoon. Final score...... St. Rita 41 - St. Charles North 35. That's my upset. What are your thoughts, and who is your upset?

That's why I said going out on a limb. For what it is worth, I was not overly impressed when I saw GW against HC. Maybe because HC is better than I thought. I also see bad weather slowing this game down and giving Oswego a chance
You pick the one game I missed in 8 years as your example. At least the field Saturday won't be muddy.
I'm not sure why people find it so hard to believe this one. I understand it's all about match ups and not always the transitive property but look at scores between MS vs LWE and LWE vs. The Brook, then look at Warren vs. The Brook. Warren took it to The Brook, It's going to be a very competitive game.

Just an FYI I am the anti-feeto. I pick an upset and the favorite always wins. Don't think I've ever gotten one right...lol.
Not much of an upset, especially if LWW plays like they did in the 2nd half last week against Jacobs with (4) straight possessions with turnovers. Should be a hard fought, close game.
My upset NC over HF
Wouldn't be shocked with a Warren win. Home game, playing with house money, program on the rise. MS hasn't really been tested since week 4. The dubious common opponent theory tells us Warren defeated NT 7-3. NT lost to MS 45-7. I would like MS much more if they had a true dual threat QB. Difficult to win it all in 8A with a pocket passer even a good one which MS has. If MS takes care of the ball better than the Brook I like them 30-22.

I guess the LZ middle linebacker is a 4 Star recruit because he’s a nice guy.
I wonder if the "source" of most of those turnovers may be sidelined in favor of a more senior player as was the case at game's end last weekend? Tough call for the coaches.
I can see Ernst starting Izzy instead of Marconi to make a point but in the end, in crunch time, I think Marconi gets the call. He stepped in when all the RB injuries happened early on in the LWW schedule and answered the call really well. They aren't where they are now without Marconi.
Plus the weather should be better and I think that was a factor (forecast is 70 with rain ending by game time but muddy grass field may be a factor)
The QB was also a factor and that will not change.
I just prefer we don't give PR bulletin board material. It could be ugly tomorrow.
Anytime someone picks against LZ or an MSL school, you take it personally. It's quite amusing.

So I'm confident on my team winning. Never said anything bad about PR, look at my post history...I respect them. Actually got **** from our fans for sounding too pro-PR.
With some of the upsets and sometimes with some of the inevitable heartbreaking playoff losses in these next few rounds, there comes the inevitable forum meltdowns.
There has been at least one each year over the past 2 playoffs that I have been either just reading or reading and posting. And each one ended with an explosive tirade and a large industrial toilet flush.
Maybe a new thread to vote on the poster most likely to meltdown during this years playoff run (given the correct unfortunate circumstances happening). Would need to establish a top 5 list before anyone could post a voting survey
Full Discloser - I was thinking Angry Dave - but then realizedYorkville is not in the playoffs and as long as he has a $5 Duke special and a HighBall - I don't think he makes a top 5. Hinter does come to mind should PR lose a heartbreaker in the playoffs - But I don't think losing to CG would be enough, it would have to be some other team "less worthy" to take a win from PR to trigger a meltdown!
