By “guns wide open”, he was referring to @footballphil’s biceps. They are massive, oiled, and indifferent.

Think of “Pumping Iron” - only all natural. They’re the only body parts which are listed on the famed “All American” tribute at Ryan Field.

If you come on peaceful terms and intent on having respectful fun, then you should be fine at the football ga
IOW, have drinks after pancakes to ease the pain. Truthfully, none of us have a clue as to the result, given Northwestern's SPECTACULARLY poor start and that Rutgers is playing decently. Enjoy the game and Evanston!
So who has a tailgate that would allow some Rutgers fans to come drink with them???

Likely most everyone, we are not hostile folks, this is Evanston after all. BYOB and other treats and you will certainly be welcome. East and west lots (on both sides of the stadium) or on north campus. Please be aware of FootballPhil, if you are not respectful, your experience will not be pleasant.

The apple pancake is an absolute must, preferably with a side order of crispy bacon

Walker Bros definitely rocks. But if you go there, give extra time. I have never been there when the line wasn't out the door, and the wait at least 20 minutes.

I don't know what the heck St Paul is talking about. I know exactly what's going to happen - we're going to get hammered by RU. I don't expect the bye week to make much difference.

So don't spend too much time fussing about where to eat... even if that doesn't go very well, you're probably going to LOVE the game.

Boy, if that's the case, we've come along way from "Expect Victory" in a very short time.

For fast food I would mention Buffalo Joe’s. Good wings, and an Evanston institution since the early 80’s. Downtown Evanston.

And of course another institution is Col. Mustard’s adjacent to the stadium. Very long line on game day but it has to be mentioned.

Ok we are definitely doing Bat 17 Friday night.

What about a breakfast spot for Saturday to actually eat good breakfast food and not drink lol. Recs?
Sarkis about 3-4 miles west of the stadium. A dive diner type place have The Disaater. They open early.

Ok, I admit I was just spouting my frustration, mainly with the two facts that:
1) our D was so indescribably and disgustingly horrible against Nebraska,
2) which was after we were only regular horrible in most of the first four games... and it was only rational for most of us to expect that changes would be made for Nebraska to get us back on the track we know we're capable of. Somehow, the opposite happened. We actually played MUCH worse.

So yes, now we've had the bye week. Surely Fitz really did use the bye week to legitimately shake up what JON was cooking. But I thought the same thing before Nebraska week. And here we are. So sorry, CMT, St Paul and Rebel.... I know we ARE going to get turned around at some point, because we DO have an above average football program with an excellent leader. But he seems to be in a slump right now, and so is the team.

I'm not giving up on the team. I'm just down about the short term until I see Fitz actually fix his big mistake. So you want me to trust the process - I'll trust the process when I see a capable performance by our D. I hope its Saturday against Rutgers.... but somebody stole my koolaid, so I'm doubtful. Show me.

Sark's is a greasy spoon type place. If that is what you are looking for then go for it, but personally I prefer Walker Brothers, though granted as someone else said above on a Saturday morning you are likely going to get a 15 minute wait or so, depending on the time.
