Was recently at an open tournament here in Central MO to watch my son‘s girlfriend wrestle and Iowa’s girls program was there in full force. I had heard that Altoona campus started a girls program, but was curious if there had been any chatter to add a program at University Park?

With the NLWC having some world class female athletes already training there, you would think it would be a great opportunity for us to start a program and be successful.

I agree, especially with the PIAA sanctioning girls wrestling programs now.

Good idea, but no chatter that I've heard. Three significant issues with adding ANY sport right now:

1. PSU would prefer to wait and see how B10 west coast expansion will impact athletics -- both revenue and cost.

2. Nobody has stepped up with a donation sufficient to start a new program.

3. Right now PSU would probably steer such donations toward NIL to keep the football program competitive.
