Few notable illnesses per Pilgrim

“There have been a few notable illness-related absences in practice since the players returned from break, sources tell KSR. They’ve kept them out of the gym and away from the team trying to isolate the bug, though, so there’s some hope it doesn’t spread through the locker room and everything can clear up by the weekend. So far, so good. Just something to monitor over the next few days before the team leaves for Tuscaloosa.

As for the good news, energy is great and these two-a-days have been really beneficial for testing out new lineup combinations and digging deeper into the offense as they transition into SEC play. Mark Pope hinted at it, but continue to hear about extended looks of JQ next to Moreno in the frontcourt — and the feedback has been very positive.”

I'm hoping that means we're going with mainly MM, JQ, and MoD at the 4/5 spots. If they do that they can kill people on the boards on both ends and I think that, along with being a very good defensive team, is how this UK team can be good.

If I was coach and knew there was a flu outbreak during my team’s 11-day break, I’d do it very differently. I’d call for a mandatory huddle and make sure the sick players coughed over every single player. Expose everyone so they can recover and build immunity before we return to games. Always easier to expose everyone to an illness than isolating from one. 😂

Problem is, this outbresk seems to be occurring more towards the middle, or end of the 11 day break.

These players need to spend less time catching illnesses and more time on their free throws.

My whole family got hit with Norovirus three nights ago. I had 24 violent vomits, and 11 Montezuma's revenges for myself in a 20 hour period. It was no bueno. The worst flu I've ever had.
So look, fellas, I don't ever wanna hear you say that son of Saul is full of ****!😂

JK brothet. I hope you feel better soon and your family as well.

Dude I got that in '20 or '21. Had no idea what it was at first, wasn't sure if it was a hardcore flu or pneumonia or some kinda COVID offshoot. I was constantly vomiting and had violent heart palpitations. Actually went to the ER and they basically told me there is no treatment and you just have to suffer through it. It really f*cked me up for a few weeks. That's serious business. Stay well

They told me you catch it from swallowing sh*t and I said "huh, that never bothered me before". Then they politely asked me to please leave the ER

Maybe we get a condensed roster, hopefully JQ Lowe and Oweh are healthy.

Curious about the new roster combos, seemed like we tried every roster combo possible...

There is a **** ton of flu going around. Not surprised by this. Im sure UK isnt the only basketball team that will be dealing with this in the coming weeks.
My husband and I have something we can't get rid of, upper respiratory. People at work have been talking about something going around.

There's a ton of crap going around right now. I know people who have one of; stomach illness, upper respiratory, some kind of vertigo inner ear crap, bronchitis, and the flu. Just a really bad time.

My grandson, who attends UK, lives in an off campus house with six others. They all attended a birthday party the weekend of Dec.14. All but one was sick by midweek with all testing positive for Flu, Covid or both. It hit them hard. My grandson who is a healthy, fit 21 year old was still not feeling well on Christmas Day. Yesterday he appeared more like himself. Nasty cough that still lingers, sore throat and a marked lack of energy were his major symptoms. Went to student health, positive for Flu A and given Tamiflu on 15th. Wouldnot want team to get this bug.

Get some Pedialyte or a bottle of adult electrolyte liquids. That is the best thing you can do for that honestly. You have lost and I’m sure are still losing massive amounts of liquids.

This is great advice. They may not have a drug to treat you with but hope the ED provided this advice. Spot on.
