Stokes was born in Louisville. Wes Unseld-ish at 6'7" 245.Dybansta is really talented but Stokes impressed me.
Yes. Based on what I've seen, Dybansta's game will easily and successfully transfer to the D1 level at BYU. He can play.Dybansta is really talented but Stokes impressed me.
Dybansta didn’t seem to play as hard as Stokes. Then again maybe he’s just that good and it’s easy for him.Yes. Based on what I've seen, Dybansta's game will easily and successfully transfer to the D1 level at BYU. He can play.
I thought Stokes had more physicality to his play, whereas Dybansta had more finesse to his game. Maybe that projects effort ??Dybansta didn’t seem to play as hard as Stokes. Then again maybe he’s just that good and it’s easy for him.
I think he plays 20+ minutes by the end of the year.I watched four (4) games and got my first extended look at Jasper Johnson:
Decent shooter. Good form, rotation and arc. Keeps elbow underneath the ball.
Good passer. Looks for teammates in spots to score.
Decent handle. Did not play any PG in the tournament, so cannot assess his PG potential.
Decent driving and mid-range game. Also, seems to have a bit of float game touch.
Nice hops, quick leaper. Can contest shots at the rim without fouling.
Good team player.
Defensively not there yet. He will definitely need to step up his defensive intensity at the D1 level.
Needs to add strength to thin frame. This will certainly happen.
Will be a good back-up shooting guard, who appears to be a streaky shooter that likes to spot up around the arc to hunt threes.
Just a guess … 10-15 MPG this first year. He will definitely contribute.
Clearly, he will improve as he adjusts to the college game. Lots of potential.
To me, he plays like a blend of Antonio Reeves and Jaxson Robinson.
How do you think he compares to Sheppard and Dillingham ?? Also, to Maxey and Quickley ??I think he’s our 2nd player taken in the draft in 26. JQ could be top 10. JJ mid-late 1st. OO will go RD2. Lowe and or DA could breakout and go RD2 but I think Lowe returns. The surprise could br Kam. That kid is super talented. He could get drafted after thi year. But if he comes back he’s a RD1 pick after his jr year.
From what I've seen, which isn't as much as some, he doesn't play anything at all like Dilly or my nephew(that's what me and the fiance call him since my last name is Sheppard), but I can see some of his game in Maxey. Maxey was listed as an inch shorter at UK, but the Sixers list him as the same height as JJ, but Maxey was listed as 20 pounds heavier his only year at UK. So think Maxey with more shots coming from 3 and a little less driving. How do you think he compares to Sheppard and Dillingham ?? Also, to Maxey and Quickley ??
