He sure excited us when he drove the lane and monster jammed it. I've always wondered when hanstravel and Gerald met on the court in the NBA if they had any kind of communication at all. OFC

Still has one of the best throw-downs in the NBA... even one of the bench players for the Lakers was taken back by it. Fun player to watch. Hope he finds another role in basketball somewhere down the road.

He’s a plus-handicapper on the golf course. Plus, pretty good behind the mic. He’ll find something to do.

Best of luck to him. His career certainly didn’t end because of skill. I thought, barring injuries, he’d be one of those guys playing well into his mid-30s.

Yeah, I remember a news article like two weeks after the whole thing happened and they were hanging out at Satisfaction in Durham. The hatchet was buried long before any of us stopped starting new threads about it.

I’ll always remember that one of the things that bugged me about those Duke teams in 2007 through 2009 was that a lot of the Duke and UNC guys hung out....all while they were clobbering us.

I always loved Gerald's game. One of the great mysteries of watching Duke is how we could lose our 2 most athletic players from a sweet 16 team(G and EW) and win the title the following year.

I know what you mean. I was at one of my lowest points as a Duke fan at the end of that season. We get smashed by Nova, and have to see probably the best UNC team of my lifetime get coronated.
