To state the obvious, Vanderbilt, Michigan and Louisville + last year's champ, Oregon State, would not seem to have any more advantages than Kentucky to having a good solid baseball program.

Michigan has a good chunk of California kids, 6 of them. They also got a good chunk of Wisconsin kids. They only have like 8 Michigan kids from what I can tell.

Daughter went to school there so I am very much aware that UM also has an unlimited athletic budget . . . but the weather is God Awful until at least the first of April, maybe not even then, hard to see how they could put together a consistent team, but they beat us in the NCAA a few years ago when Henderson was the coach. I believe Arizona won the regional that we were in.

I think you are thinking of 2008 when Cohen was the coach. We were a 3 seed and they were a 2 seed and they won 7-2. We came out of the losers bracket and then beat them 12-6 to face 1 seed Arizona in the title game and lost 3-5. That was one of those weird situations where Arizona was the 1 seed, but the game was in Ann Arbor.
