Buie: D+ All of the good things he does in games is completely nullified by all the mistakes, turnovers, bad shots, poor defense, loose ball handling, etc.. An off the bench guard at best. The few 3 pointers he hits end up being little help due to habitual poor shot selection and turnovers. Substandard distributor as a point guard. Swinging door on defense is a nightmare to coach.
Nance: C- He’s great if you’re looking for a 6’10” perimeter player and 3-point shooter that plays soft and gets less rebounds than a 6’4” freshman. Lacks the physical strength, bulk and attitude to be an effective inside player in the BigTen. Huge disappointment.
Beran: D+ Off the bench player at best. Inconsistent shooter that plays smaller than his size. Role player that doesn’t do anything particularly well.
Audige: C- The only reason he’s not getting a lower grade he’s one of the few players on the team that can take it off the dribble and create his own shot. However extremely selfish player who’s always looking for his own shot. Hurts the team more than he helps the team. Turnover prone and highly overrated on defense.
Young: A- Excellent inside scorer who was completely and totally underutilized. Not afraid to bang with the biggest bodies in the BigTen. Would be a very effective scorer on a good team that could get him the ball. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave the program after the way he was used this season. He’ll get a ton of offers if he enters the portal.
Roper: B Chance to be a very good player. Didn’t get a chance to shine because of the selfishness of teammates. Is already a very good defender and has not had a chance to show his potential on the offensive of end. Unless there are major changes, this is another guy who could be thinking about leaving the program.
Greer C+ Under appreciated and underutilized player. Solid and steady with the ball and better shooter than given credit for. Good reliable guard off the bench.
Berry A- Best pure Shooter on the team. Should have taken more shots instead of Buie and Audgie. Another player that would shine on a better team. There will be plenty of interest if he enters the portal.
Barnhizer: B (incomplete) Never got a chance. Appears to have decent size and skill to be a very good player on the right team. Good ball handler and likely would put up some points if he got a chance to play.
Nicholson: B (incomplete) has size and bulk to be very effective inside player. Another player never given a chance. Likely will be thinking about the portal after never been given a chance. The one game he got extended minutes he played well, never to be seen again.
Simmons: B (incomplete) Cannot fully evaluate due to lack of playing time and the failure of the system he plays in. Has good combination of length and athleticism. With proper coaching and development there’s no telling what type of player he could be.
