It amazing how many people can't grasp this
I think the reason we can't grasp this is because, JF was not fired so that PSU could be favored against 60 percent of the power 4 teams. We were farrrrrr better than that during the JF years, and were in the final four just two years ago. MC was brought in to win a national title and beat OSU. In percentage game like was said earlier in this thread...... in the last several years we would have been favored when playing roughly 95 percent of power 4 teams. Now we are favored in just over half of the games if we played power 4 teams. With no talent coming in to help in the future. This was not the goal when firing JF. I think that is why we can't grasp this.

What percent of our games this year do you think we've been favored (or will be) against F4 teams? Half is wrong. Guessing you're not a gambler. Your math skills are also horrific if you think we've been favored to win about 95% of our P4 games with Franklin. Not even remotely accurate. You're saying we weren't favored in less than 1 game a year under Franklin....
MC was brought in to eventually win a title which CJF was incapable of doing--not in year 1 with a makeshift roster. If he doesn't work we fire a new coach.
None of this alters CJF tenure had to end and most of our fans are overreacting to year 1 which wasn't going to be good even if CJF stayed. 2026 was always the rebuild year with 2025 supposed to be the title run--only CJF failed miserably against UCLA and Northwestern.
Remember--we were 6-6 last year with a stud-studded veteran team. 6-6.

You sure talk a lot without saying anything. I'm sure you were one of those doing the talking instead of getting things done. It's no wonder you were so taken with BGJ, right up your alley. All show, no go.

10 More Years!!!
Excited about the opportunity to escape the Big Ten cellar vs. Perennial power Purdue?

29th in SP+. 23rd in Sagarin. Would be favored over about 80% of the D1 teams if they played today (and over 60% of the Power 4 teams). You have no concept of what an "awful team" actually is if you consider Michigan to be "awful" (then paper again, you're obviously far from objective when you use elementary school level insults when talking about them...no offense to elementary school kids of course).
Winning on paper is all that's left?

Post factually incorrect crap, and I'll call it out whether we win, lose, or draw. I know it's not as popular as it used to be, but I still care about posting accurate information. Posting that "Michigan is awful" isn't actually true, and thus I call it out while backing up with some facts.

The final record will be mediocre- by Rutgers or Maryland standards. These are other programs which live in our new level.

Get used to it.

5 conference games remaining. The "discovery" that there is a lack of talent on the roster is about a month old. Prior to that, we were regaled with tales of the talents of the ISU expatriates and the legendary coaching skills of the new staff. No one should use the excuse of roster talent against the final 5 opponents. A Terry Smith like turnaround can and must happen coming out of the bye week.
