You gotta love Dererk, and maybe he deserved the (literal) long-shot chance to be the “final hero” today, topping Bohannon and thereby appearing on Sports Center for the second game winning improbable make. But I’m wondering if he should have been the one getting ball on the in bounds. Maybe it’s just that he turned out to be the most open or the ONLY one open, but of all the guys who’ve tried 15 or more 3-pointers this year, he has the lowest percentage of makes— not surprising considering where and how he spends 99% of his time on the floor.
Law, Falzon, Taylor, and Kopp all would seem more likely shooters, with Pardon being the hail mary quarterback.
Admittedly, it really doesn’t much matter because of the huge odds against anyone making that desperation 3, so this is just a casual observation. If CC believed DP had the arm strength to get it all the way to the basket area, despite his predictable inaccuracy from that range, so be it.
