It has been a difficult road but early today I had my final surgery. That was surgery number 5. They took out the staples (hooks) that they used to anchor my bandages. There was roughly 50 or so of them. I dont wish those things on anyone. My graft is 90% to 95% attached and healthy.

I have about a week of being in a rehab hospital then I can go home after nearly 4 weeks here. My skin donor site is very painful but it should be better in a couple weeks. Then the long process of fully healing will take a year or so. The wounds will remain tender during this year but I shouldn't have any extreme pain from it.

I can't begin to thank all of you for your prayers, well wishes and genuine concern. You made an unbearable situation much more tolerable. BBN is a unique family in sports and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Great news! Can't imagine how painful that must be. I apologize if I missed it but how did you get burned so bad? No need to answer if you prefer not to divulge that. Just curious.
Hope you get rest and recovery!

Thanks. Somehow I slipped in the bathroom, hit my head and knocked myself out. When I fell to the floor, my back ended up against a radiator style space heater on max. We don't know how long i was there, it was up to 2 hours.

You'd think the pain would wake me up but apparently it doesn't take too long to burn and kill the nerves.

Sorry that happened to you.
I coughed so hard one night when I was on some heavy duty cough medicine.. I saw stars then blacked out briefly. Wasn't out long but could have hit my head as well. Just got lucky.
Crazy how fast things can change.

This is good news, my friend. I'm also glad you've told the board. There's some faithful men on this message board who will continue to pray for you.

You're right. BBN is a family.

That is great news. I know you still have a long road of recovery ahead of you and there will still be a lot of painful days but know that you have friends here that have your back and are willing to talk and listen to you. Still praying for a speedy healing process. Take care brother and thanks for the updates.

Extremely glad to hear that you're well on your way to recovery. What a horribly unfortunate series of events that took place, but it's great that you have an upbeat attitude about things. You've already overcome a great deal!

Good Lord that's a nightmare situation. Prayers up, God is good. Don't know how I missed it but I appreciate you sharing something like this. I genuinely care about all the people I interact with on here. We may bicker over this or that but I feel we'd all have each other's backs if it came down to it.
