Good game, WN won the game in the first half with better line play over JCA, which in my opinion made very good halftime adjustments and played the game to a 7-7 tie in the second half.

WN was way bigger than I anticipated and they utilized their FB and TE well in their running game.

In the escc thread one poster thought the game would come down to WN returning more seniors, in retrospect, i think that was pretty dead-on. WN was able to get out of the gates a little more polished and with more weight on the o-line.

IMO, two good teams that if they can improve, can make noise. I'm very much looking forward to next week's JCA game. I see the switch turning on there.

I've found the WN/JCA series to be a great one by both programs! 2-2 after four years.

Physically dominating performance on both sides of the ball for the Falcons. Impressive. Congrats.

Good analysis guys.
Congrats to the Falcons on a well executed game.
Good luck the rest of the way.
The young Hilltoppers (4 O-Line Juniors) will learn a good deal from this night and showed good character in the 2nd Half.
The QB's reads will speed up with experience and with those skill guys, look out!
The WN Offense did to the Hilltoppers, what the Hilltoppers used to do to opponents - out size them on the line (thick legs and backsides on their OL) and pound it with solid RBs.
After the last 2 years, I will not miss seeing #21 --- a very good High School RB
The balance of schedule is dominated by Spread teams, so the Defense should not see as physical of an Offense again.
The Spread will present its own challenges.
It is going to be fun watching this team grow up.

With all the sophomores starting last year, I thought (along with a few others), that JCA was a year away. Was surprised that so many people declared them "back" and as good as some of the best teams they've had the last 10-15 years. Based on one game? Much improved, but next year watch out. Looking forward to seeing how WN fares against Naperville Central.

I agree that the JCA faithful needed to tap the brakes a bit after last week's win at Geneva. I also understand the optimism following last season's struggles. Agreed that this team is not as good as some of the teams since 2008. But, they could be pretty good by the end of the season provided they stay away from injuries.

I stand corrected. I thought JCA would start the year 3-0.

It will be interesting to follow the Falcons season. I don't think they will be able to push around some 8A schools on their schedule as they were able to do last night. Will they be able to turn the page when a team as physical limits their running game? I was very impressed by the discipline of their defense. They held their position and never allowed the cutback which would have resulted in some long runs for JCA.
