I don’t think we have the $ to throw around like that…idk what they paid Figs, but it has to be pretty substantial. Then to shelf him and be paying for both 2nd semester. Doubtful our budget is that big
Drake and Mikey looking off is concerning because it follows a pattern.
He lost 2-0 against mizzu and injury defaulted to Luffman IL he was hurt in that match.
Him and Blaze. But he was Okyst from the beginning of high school and when Taylor got the job I’m sure it really sealed the deal.

But why not? He’s shown that he’s matured…and we’ve got his brother on the team…and we could use him. Makes sense to me to bring him back in January.

On the radio they were saying he was laying down near the mat watching Angelo wrestle, when he was on deck against Feldman. Thought it was funny when he got beat after hearing that.
I thought the team looked fine overall. Williams and Bailey do not look ready to roll yet, but both are very talented. Those two are huge potential point swings. Could see both placing top 5 or going 1-2.
I don't think Drake has regressed talent-wise, but I think his production will. 133 this year is significantly tougher than 133 last year and 125 the year before. He can have improved from last year and still be the 5th best guy. Don't think he can beat Forrest, Blaze, or Davino. Byrd has his number and Crookham is a bit of a wildcard, but an elite talent when healthy. Then you have guys like Knox (who's already beaten him) and Fugitt who took him to the brink as a freshman last year in the semis. Excellent weight. I have full faith Drake will be wrestling well at the end of the year. I just don't know if it will be enough to be top 4.
Caliendo is in a similar spot. I think he can make the finals again, but Lockett and Blaze are for real and can (and have) beat him.
PK looked good. Angelo is for real. Endene has been better than expected. Peterson can mix it up with anybody, but lose to anybody in the top 10. Block has been a pleasant surprise. Solid open to the season imo.

We can debate whether he's matured or not but what can't be debated is that's not a standard he had/has to meet in order to have wrestled for Iowa.
Additionally, I have no idea how you can say it "makes sense" in response to a post that explains it literally can't happen even if Iowa wanted it to (which it does not).

During the OKST dual he was sitting mid mat between the two teams. How he wasn't removed, I do not know.
AJ has and always will be a Hawk at heart. Nebby nothing more than a payday. On Hawks sideline Saturday and backing his brother against Sinclair. After match approaches Brands with a handshake and nod. Never say never, this ain't near over yet Spoon. If AJ is wrestling Saturday night and BK isn't, Im pulling and all in for Angelos bro.
Well, he definitely can use some words to make it 5......November, December, January, February, March.........Even going strictly chronological it is MORE than 4 months going 11-17 through March 21st......

Love him or hate him, he spent quite a bit of time in the Iowa room and his brother wrestles there. If he had a choice, I am pretty confident he would be at Iowa right now...
Not a requirement. We aren't all Vhsalum, some of us haven't wrestled at Iowa and still Hawks by heart. And yes, AJ did wrestle in the room for some time.
I agree with that. But him "has and always will be a Hawk at heart" is a stretch. A guy like that doesn't do the splits and give the double birds to those who are the vast majority Hawkeyes at heart.
The guy was getting a chorus of boos after getting DQ'd. Not exactly the moment where someone known for being a volatile meathead is likely to be nice to the fans who MAY be Hawkeye fans when they are being anything but nice to him...

Yeah, we'll have to agree to disagree. These are my last words on it. I know how you are in getting the last word. I'm not arguing that his character is not one who would justify acting like that. I'm just not buying into the notion that a wrestler who was never a Hawk, never wrestled in an Iowa singlet, was a national champion at Okie State, and doubled birded mostly Iowa fans in the most spectacular fashion is a wrestler who "has and always will be a Hawk at heart."
That's because you're able to put together a sane and rational thought. Others are unable to do the same due to being nose deep in his jock strap.

You’re kidding me, Aj has eligibility left after this year? My god he’s gotta be close to 30. Certainly closer to 30 than college age.
Edit to add: he’d be 25 next year. Which seems younger than he should be somehow.
