Just listening to Finebaum a minute ago and he was saying that he thought Kentucky would be a good fit for Lane Kiffin.

I would not be happy with Kiffin. I think he has done fine as an OC, but when he was at Tennessee he was very much of a loose cannon. I think he'd be that way again without someone like Saban keeping him under his thumb. Much better prospects than Kiffin out there, IMO. Plus, I imagine that Kiffin's ego wouldn't allow him to coach for a school like UK. He'd want to be at a team with a bigger name.
To be fair Kiffin was very young when he was put in the limelight. He improved the Vols the first year he was there and had USC at 10-2 in his second year. Not to mention he has had the blessing of being under the best coach in the game for the past few years. We could do worse.
I cannot think of another coach with the potential to more thoroughly agitate Barnhart. If barney's staying, I am firmly on the Kiffen bandwagon.
Well I can say this with confidence, Mitch would HATE Kiffin.
That would be sooo Kentucky. Pass on a guy like Petrino because he's an asshat that is a proven winner and hire Kiffin, who is an asshat that couldn't win in the PAC12 with USC talent.
Kiffin was at UT for a year. Hard to know if he did pretty good. We do know that he improved recruiting there. However, he really just made UT recruiting what it should have been rather than what Fulmer let it slide to be.
He could do all right, but there are a lot of variables to hiring him that would make me nervous. It would definitely add to the Kentucky/Tennessee rivalry though.

Yeah, Kiffin wouldn't be my first choice. I'd still rather go with Brohm first, but I thought it was interesting to hear Finebaum say that

His wife + USC made him leave Tennessee. He's now divorced and USC is only a memory. That being said, he'll never, ever be UK's coach so it's just water cooler talk.
And pissing off UT fans would be well worth it.

This just isn't true. 35-21 as a college head coach. Zero losing seasons. USC was better with Lane Kiffin while on probation with scholarship restrictions than they've been with a full roster without him.
Not to speak of what he's done with the Alabama offense, which is borderline wizardry.
And if he is of such low morals that he would get a divorce can you imagine the things he's doing or may have done that we don't know about? Only a truly moral man of the highest character can coach at UK.
I would be cool with lane as our coach. He's coached at two traditional power houses with alright success. Good recruiter that knows offense. Also he got brought down a level under Saban

That being said he's a strict west coast/pro style offense guy. Those offenses RARELY work well in college unless your somewhere with a ton of talent.
I seriously doubt anyone could run a pro style offense here with any consistent success.
If there is any place in the country that needs a "system coach" it's Kentucky. I don't think Kiffin fits that bill at all.
