Pretty good. Summed up most of what we knew and heard about the group.

Only saw the second half so far. Still interested in how control of

the outfit went from Hubbard to Miscavige.

That was in the first half. Hubbard went underground for tax evasion and then he died in 86. Miscaviage took over after that.

Friend of mine was working with Travolta around the time Cruise was shooting Eyes Wide Shut. A lot of what they mention about Cruise and Travolta around that time was spot on.

Travolta actually sponsored my friend for a 1 week stay at the Celebrity Center, and like $100,000 worth of "sessions".

Story I was told back then was Travolta wanted out but they had too much blackmail on him for him to ever leave, so they got him to stay.

That seems to be the only true use for the "audits"

All your deepest darkest secrets get recorded during the audit and it's all filed away and can be used as blackmail later on.

I'm more amazed than ever that it's considered a religion.

They brought up a really good point in the show. In the rest of the modern religions, you pretty much know up front what it is you are believing in. In Scientology you don't find out about your religious beliefs until you are 8 years and several hundred thousand dollars involved. If they told you up front about the galactic overlord you would probably not join.

That was a big takeaway for me also.

Honestly, the parts of it that you learn up front probably don't sound that bad.

But then you get into Xenu and the 75 million souls that were banished to volcanoes on Earth that enter us when we are babies .... Pretty crazy stuff.

I agree, I can't imagine people joining if that's what the religion lead with, and it was the jumping off point for Paul Haggis
