We lose a game that was on the road, that we were not favored in. So all of a sudden, Pope is a bad coach? We looked like garbage, yes, and there are concerns, but seriously? If Kentucky would have won, Pope would be GOAT, right. I know losing to Louisville sucks, but can we use our brains?
Pope is a great coach. He wasn’t tonight

Idk I think even this is a little harsh. These types of games happen when you play good teams on the road, and especially rivalries where they are desperate for a win.
We should have won the game. We had a major advantage in the frontcourt and did everything we could to not take advantage of it until the second half. I’m not telling you that you have to be upset it’s the coaching but the criticism was warranted tonight. I haven’t lost any faith in Pope or this team just yet.

not a big pope guy, but hes my coach so i gotta live w it

the only things that really bother me about him is that hes a awful recruiter, but for some reason we are down 15+ more than we ever were w cal

Disagree that we have a major frontcourt advantage. Garrison is terrible and Mo and Moreno are better than their players but it's not a massive advantage. Defensively, Pope needs to figure things out for this season and going forward for his tenure.

It’s not you; people are talking crazy. I would agree that I would like to see more top-end talent. Unless you can find the next Walter Clayton Jr, it’s tough to win without top-end talent. Jon Scheyer might be mid as a coach, but he can recruit.

Ok cool. Whatever you think. I thought the second half is how we should have been playing in the first half. I wouldn’t be so upset if I didn’t see the adjustment needed to be made by the first TV timeout and we waited 20 minutes later to start implementing it. I’m not losing sleep though. I think we lose no more than 5-6 games this year —- I think we are really good and I think Pope knows he got outcoached. It won’t happen again because he’s a smart guy

Disagree, not sure mo is better than anyone
For all of the talk about him being an animal, he sure looked tamed tonight

Pope hasn’t proven anything yet. I certainly don’t want him fired but his teams put themselves in big holes early. I mean you don’t have to be a genius to know Brando garrison cannot play away from the basket or at the top of the key. The guy needs to be a stay at home rim protector.

i would say pope is in there with about 35-40 good college coaches. We don’t start strong with him but we fight. This was a game like many last year. Pope needed to change some things and he didn’t.

Sorry, Louisville is good and Kelsey is really good. Kentucky is not as good as Louisville right now, but it’s November. Does it suck? Yep.
I know it’s early but a freshman took us to task tonight. That sucks for early.

His offensive schemes are elite and being borrowed by many others in CBB. He has shown a propensity to win big games, even with inferior talent. He took us to a S16 with a make a wish roster just last year.
His offensive schemes are what others have been doing for years. It's literally metrics. ChatGPT could do the same ****.

Propensity to win big games? Dog, he literally won his first 2 tournament games last year in like a decade of coaching, both against teams seeded quite a bit lower. We won some regular season games we were the underdog and then lost just as many thst we were favored. Finished 5th in our conference.

He literally had more financial resources than anyone in CBB to assemble that roster.

Once Pope started recruiting athletes instead of shooters I knew he could possibly struggle coaching this team this season. He’s seems to be recruiting players for defense over offense

He’s a mediocre coach and his track record proves it. If he hadn’t been a Cat, he wouldn’t be on the sidelines today. It’s that simple.
i told my mom that today, but the good news is that at kentucky if things get too bad we will have a new hc before things get too bad
