Like maybin said, it's illegal how he became ad anyways. The supreme court ruled it was illegal for Matt Bevin to disband the old board of directors for a new board that will do his bidding, including firing Tom jurich, allowing for Tyra to take over... This is a freaking mess, so ya Tyra sees us as a developmental football school, not a power like jurich did and pushed for, and IT SHOWS, he won't shell out money like that school down the road is or most other power five teams. He's not taking football seriously and we're paying for it

I think that today Vince put his credibility, reputation and career on the line. He’s all in on Satt but I suspect he’s holding a pair of deuces at best. Honestly, I’m not even sure Vince wants his AD job any longer and has chosen to sit on his hands and bail when his contract is out in June. We haven’t heard from him, no presser expected.
The irony…..we’re begging for a home town hero to return as our head coach…yet we hired a UK alum as our AD.

If I’m Vince, after all the BS I inherited and storms navigated. All the crap behind the scenes. Working hard to deal with a TERRIBLE situation. And gets crap from fans about every single thing.

He didn’t give Petrino the crazy contract. He didn’t fire Rick. He wasn’t getting Jay Wright. We hired the best option. Jeff Brohm said NO in 2018z

The problem with Vince is he was never going to replace Jurich. People like Zipp (love ya buddy) and all the propagandists started the campaign against him on DAY ONE. Every loss was his fault. Every move he was called a sabotage artist.

The problem is that Tom was fired when Lamar and that Clemson game were still fresh in the mind. Tom didn’t have to face any heat for the Petrino fiasco. We also were fresh off Donovan’s good year and we had so much hype going into 2017. Things were good the last season, but the Padgett NIT and Bobby 2-10 were what Vince walked into and Vince was the face of it and TJ never faced heat for being the AD over it that got us in those positions.

The donors left because they lost confidence. We had to pay Jurich and Bobby crazy amounts of money. Then COVID took a lot of money last year. Combined with all the scandals.

If I’m him, I’d run out the door. Tom would’ve had us in the same place. Brohm would’ve def said no in 2018 and the program was still in terrible shape. We still would’ve had to fire Rick. We’d be in the same place.

Vince is the guy that follows a legend. You don’t replace Denny Crum with Rick Pitino in his prime every day, we got so so so lucky. But it’s not like that usually.

Our football and basketball programs are in a better place than the crap he inherited.

I’ve already posted on other threads and if anyone thinks Vince is the issue your crazy. He was indeed our final defense against those who don’t care about our athletics. If he leaves who do you think that BOT (With SuCk graduates and other outsiders) and Bendapudi will hire? A Card guy like Vince or some yes guy? You’ll get what you want in Vince leaving, but I’m pretty sure your not going to like the replacement.

I agree at this point there is no path for Vince to stay. That is unfortunate. The worst kind of boss is one that doesn’t trust you to do your job. Why she doesn’t trust him is the question? I hope the media gets this answer.

I never wanted him to hire Bobby the second time he should have hired Brohm then and left Bobby in Bowling Green.

We're completely sidestepping the money issue with Tyra. It's the 800-lb gorilla that no one recognizes or talks about. $3+ million per month of cash is draining from U of L bank accounts that isn't offset by revenues. The $20 million Republic Bank loan we got six months ago is mostly spent.

I would have liked--not loved!--to have been completely wrong about Tyra. That would have meant that the guy was pretty successful here at hiring and retaining coaches and raising money. And it would have meant that most of us were wrong about Jurich, that he wasn't unique nor that hard to replace. Instead, Tyra's brief tenure has confirmed what an extraordinary AD Jurich was...

Maybe I missed it but could Tyra at least have the decency to address a worn out fanbase about whether he was going to be thin skinned and bolt for FSU because of his hatred for our now former President or if he was genuinely pissed at her and the BOT for their apathy towards UofL Athletics?

Which is it? Louisville fans deserve an answer. I have no problem with retaining Satterfield for next year but letting this BS float around about Tyra maybe going back into the business world or maybe he’ll stay on as AD is chicken-****.

I believe part of the negotiation that removed his non-compete and notice requirement also forbids him from discussing many details and/or disparaging the university.

If this was already posted earlier today, I didn't see it... John Boel of WAVE 3 was on during Deener's 2nd hour this morning. And he mentioned a call that the TV news department received from Rocco Gasparro. Boel said that Rocco was questioning why there was controversy about Satterfield being fired. Reportedly, the meeting last week between Tyra and Satterfield was only to discuss plans and changes for the offseason. Never any question about Satterfield continuing as head coach.

If you were speculating as I was that Tyra wanted to fire Satterfield and that Neeli was standing in the way, we were apparently wrong. According to Rocco anyway, Jeff Brohm coming here was never a possibility...

Does this mean VT stroked and played his Trinity Mafia pals?

I mean, JB was ready, willing to take a cut in salary to get here according to them.🤣

I heard all of the Brohm-will-accept narratives, but they could also be true. If the Brohm posse felt it was a possibility, the word could have come down to make him an offer. But that may have been a one-sided love affair this year.

And it's moot anyway since we never had close to enough money to buy out any big coaching contract...

I laugh thinking of how many walls got holes punched in them by the jilted ones.

And in my own sick way, I really hope JB REALLY wanted the job this time.

Too bad. Not

I do think the local radio shows tried to influence what was happening with Satterfield. They were being fed information that fit their audiences narrative i.e Brohm. If Brohm truly wants to come home it will be next year.

The interesting thing was they all heard rumblings Vince was leaving. The blew that off and really never talked about or stirred that pot. The reality was Vince was leaving. would Brohm want to be brought in under a new AD? Why would Vince put Brohm in that position? The truth is neither would want that.

Talk radio is reflective of today’s society they thrive in negativity. Louisville has been nice enough to oblige giving them content.

Fresh start.

I’m available. Only interested in the AD job, though.
Hey Pushup, I'm old but I will be your assistant! I'll gladly sign a one week contract for a minimum of $25K per. Sounds fair TO ME. You'll be getting a diehard UofL fan. Oh, and I also demand a tenure of at least 4 weeks. How about it? And, by the way, I only work about 15 minutes a day, two days a week. Hope that's all OK with you and my fellow CARD fans.

GO CARDS!!!

True dat! I've been amused hearing the banter about money and big donors in place to land Brohm. People talking without really knowing the story and probably accepting the second- and third-hand (mis)information of others.

And they're on the radio in the aftermath forgetting they ever said anything...
