Well, the best news that will come out of this game has already happened: Boo Buie is available tonigt.

Maryland is like most Big Ten teams. They’re 4-3 in the Big Ten — 4-0 at home and 0-3 on the road. We’ll see if NU can protect their home court. Anthony Cowan is the main man for the Terps, but Jalen Smith has been red-hot lately, shooting better than 58% from 3 in his last five games.

Hard for road teams to travel halfway across the country in the middle of the week. The wrestling team had to take a 15 hour bus ride to Penn State a few weekends ago. Pretty much impossible. How can anyone study under those circumstances.

20-12 at 11:31. Cats hitting their shots, Boo playing now. Terms hit from the corners on our zone. A little too much collapsing on the drivers.

Maryland started getting clean looks against the zone.

We need a presence on the free throw line against their 1/2/2 zone. Fortunately confidence seems abundant.

NU's size is really bothering Maryland. They are passive on offense, settling for perimeter shots. Pat Spencer is taking the much smaller Anthony Cowan to the hole whenever he gets the chance.

One thing to watch: NU is flirting with trouble in the foul department. Nance has three and just sat down, while Jones and Beran have two apiece.

Cats looking good! Some questionable fouls against us, and a non-call when Kopp got mugged.

Great to see us figuring out their zone with some great big to big game. Maryland has not found a way to slow us down.

Fouls wise it’s feeling a bit like the game at Indiana. We were loaded but managed it well.

That's the best I've seen the Cats play this year!! Keep it up. Defense is swarming and disruptive.

Outstanding half. Not perfect by any means — got a little sloppy at times (Kopp turnover trying to push it, Turner’s out-of-control foul, two awful fouls from Nance) but the energy was awesome. Glad Young wasn’t seriously hurt on the hard foul (and OMG the drive to the bucket!). Glad to see Buie shaking off the rust. Turner I thought turned it on on offense when he knew the team needed him with Nance and Kopp on the bench. I love how they took it to Maryland inside and didn’t settle for 3s when the Terps went zone.

A lot to like. A lot of game left. Let’s WIN.

When they play like this it makes one think that the future is bright given some of the new players coming in and the maturity of the current players
