I'm not someone who gets into these things, but I did click on this link to make sure they don't say THE VILLE. Man that was so 80's wrasslin' gimmicky.
I hate to ask this because it is probably a simple answer but what does the 150 on the jersey stand for?
Last season notwithstanding, UofL is “new money” to the big boy table in more ways than one. Football relevance, some could say prominence, has come the last 30+ years. UofL just “celebrated” their 100th season last year. Most other P5 teams have been playing football 30, 40, 50 years longer. Not to get in a pissing contest, but how far we’ve come relatively quickly is due to, obviously, Howard, but also Tom Jurich. He made football a priority.
I didn’t realize college football was that old. After you told me that I googled it and read where the first game was between Rutgers & Princeton on the Rutgers campus. That would be really neat to have a site like that on your campus.
