The Cats got their first portal pick up. 6'7" fifth year player Jack Karasinski from Bellarmine. The forward averaged 21.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last year while shooting 41.5% from three-point range (about 6 attempts per game).
The level of competition concerned me also. But not bad stats against decent teams last year.Hopefully he can catch on fast and get up to speed at this much much higher level of competition. time will tell.

He has the same dimensions as Kropp, but can shoot from the outside and work well inside.Perfect fit for us TBH. Sounds like an undersized stretch 4, who is experienced and has a proven track record against better competition.
Kropp was listed on NUSports.com as 6'9" and 230 lbs......not quite the same.S

I don’t think he was quite that sizeKropp was listed on NUSports.com as 6'9" and 230 lbs......not quite the same.
This guy may not be size listed either Would seem he is closer to being replacement for Singleton than Martinelli with more consistent outside shooting and more mature body. Let's see what else they are able to bring inI don’t think he was quite that size
I was about to say the same. Questioned it throughout the season. Ever see him next to Martinelli?I don’t think he was quite that size
Here's the game against Kentucky:Has anybody seen his film? How quick is his release?
Can they get open and will we have the guys to deliver those passes so they can catch and shoot?I rewatched Karaskinski's highlight reel again, and noticed while he can bang inside - he also hit catch and shoot 3s. (This also stood out in Colin Smith's makes tape, he was pretty much all CAS3.). I then re-watched Max Green's makes reel from his frosh year at Holy Cross, and his made 3s were off the bounce, or step back.
I'm wondering if one lesson learned is that in the jump from mid major to high major, that we can trust the catch and shoot 3 more than the off the dribble 3? Once the ball is on the deck, you're giving the defender the opportunity to recover and that high major defender will likely have greater quickness and length to harrass the shot.
