After watching Utah/OSU, Fitz awakened in a cold sweat, dreaming he was trailing alphabet U by 14 at halftime. He got in his 1960 Edsel and drove to Coach Bajakian's house. He broke down the door , got on his knees and asked for forgiveness. He agreed to allow an offense that excited the players and fans. Coach B gave the handcuffs back to Fitz and NU throws for 300 yards in the second half to win the game

And then Fitz woke up and exclaimed, “300 yards passing? In one half?!? Phew — it was just a nightmare. Life is good in my mansion in Northfield.”

Fitz already did that in 2007 and 2009 (including the 2010 Outback Bowl).

I was told that 24 OSU scholarship guys for one reason or another did NOT dress for the RB...24!

That's what I was referring to. The game Fitz was dreaming about. I watched that game with u
The OP was about that crazy outback bowl. Fun game, but we friggin lost because Cory Wootton could not block a DB.

Had a great time at the Holiday bowl despite the cold rain. That was quite a fat for me. My dad had passed that morning, and I’d like to tell myself that he had something to do with the outcome.,I never saw my dad get down about things or quit.

I would have liked to have met your dad. He sounds like a great man.

We lost that game because Stef Demos missed two FGs and an XP, then got hurt.

We lost because we scored fewer points.
We lost because the defense didn’t prevent their opponents from scoring points.
We lost because the offense didn’t score enough.
No loss comes down to one thing. Even those that might seem to have come down to one thing.

I’d argue that NU lost because Drake Dunsmore didn’t have enough energy to carry the Auburn defense sixty yards twice.

Of course he didn’t stick in the NFL.

The fake field goal to end the game was a high school call. With Kafka being a dual threat, put the ball in his hands.

Dual threat or no dual threat, while I loved the desire to take a creative call, I agree. Kafka willed us back into that game with five TDs and roughly nine million passing attempts (after nearly sinking us with five picks). He had a great year. He was the guy, just put the ball in his hands and let the chips fall where they fall. Would have been less tough to remember back to that moment for the couple years before we won the Gator Bowl if that had been the decision.

Not sure that approach would actually be more likely to work than the trick play, mostly just an expression of my demeanor and philosophy.

When it comes to trick plays, Fitz has been horrible...

He's like the antithesis of Dantonio.

The reality is that play works and NU wins if Corey Wooton sticks to his block.
