But how can this be? According to Phil Jackson, DUKE players don't do well in the NBA.

K is the coach. Only explanation. Same reason Laettner was chosen over Shaq and Webber. And according to unX and UK fans, Rodney Hood doesn't count for Duke. He started at MSU. If anything we just held him back one season by him having to redshirt.

I honestly was thinking Winslow would go the way of Kidd-Gilchrist (which isn't terrible, just a very limited ceiling), but should he develop a mid range game, his potential is almost unlimited. Like Clyde Drexler or Dominique Wilkins potential.

The five are Hood, Parker, Winslow, Okafor, and Ingram! Most of any school. Great honor for those guys and a step in the right direction.
Really pumped for this! Great honor for these guys and hopefully down the road a couple can be on the national team themselves. all of them have some USA experience.

Let's say that these 5 players were your starting 5. How would ya'll position them?

I think my starting 5 would be

1) Parker/Ingram
2) Winslow
3) Hood
4) Ingram/Parker
5) Okafor

Hood is the best shooter of them all right now so i'd put him at the 2 and slide Justise to the 3. Probably have Ingram bring it up but really any of them could of Parker, Hood or Ingram

You know what is scary. If hof coach roy williams had wanted any of these guys he would have gotten them. But he chose guys like big luke maye, kennedy meeks, j.p.tokoto, nate britt, theo pinson and kenny "tar heel radar" williams and Coach K would have an entirely new roster without any of those Duke players who hof coach roy williams would have for four years. I thankful for the tender mercies of hof coach roy williams and his generosity in allowing Duke and other programs to be competitive. OFC

Well looks like DUKE and coach K will get more haters.. I say bring 'em on.. LOL, who wouldn't want to keep USA basketball operating at a high level, and what better man to do it than DUKES very on coach K.

Then he says he couldn't coach at Duke and do it so I don't think it happens. I don't believe he does USA without Duke. Also says he has a 5 year contract which I don't get since he is lifetime

Yeah I debated between Hood and Winslow at the 2 and 3 and I almost listed them as Hood/Winslow in both the 2 and 3 spots like I did with Parker and Ingram at the 1 and 4 spots.

Bring Quinn in to run the point and bring Brandon off the bench. Positional numbers don't matter because you can call Winslow a 2 or Hood a 3 and they are still going to do what they do in the court. Heck, call Hood a 5 if you want. Doesn't matter. Let Rodney shoot, let Justise dunk, let Jah dominate and let Jabari be Jabari. That team could win a few 5 v 5 games.

It's a shame, as Kyrie just misses the U-23 mark. Just turned 24 this spring. Imagine him as the point on this team.

That's AWESOME and I don't care what fan base it offends. OFC

Yep. unx'ers are beside themselves and this is only the "Select" team. Imagine if they were finalists for spots on the Olympic squad? Lulz. I like how they consider all this a ginormous recruiting advantage for Duke. ROY is the problem with unx's recruiting NOT K. IOW , even if K wasn't involved with the Olympics , unx would still have the same issues. BTW...the recruiting advantage hasn't been invented that beats the one unx has enjoyed for the last 2 decades. "Come to unx , get cash , cars , houses , drugs , weapons & women. No academic obligations and if ya stick around long enough we'll hand ya a degree." THAT is a recruiting advantage.

But don't forget that they did land one on the team with BJ.

When the tar heel fan base starts their whining about a Duke loaded team tell them to have a look at the 1976 Olympic team and their coach which is fine because we won gold and if this Olympic team has some Dukies on it that will be fine because we will win gold. It's our Olympic team and as a nation it should be supported. OFC
