Daton and Spencer last wrestled in 2015 when Daton won the 54 KG spot at the Cadet trials. Hard to believe they haven't hit since.

Folkstyle
@ 133, Daton 2 matches to 1
@ 125, Lee in 2 matches

Freestyle
@ 61 KG, Daton 2 matches to 1
@ 57 KG. The big one that could decide the Olympic spot. I'll be a homer and say Daton 2 matches to 1.

Daton sweeps in both styles at both weights. Spencer hasn't wrestled anybody as good as Daton since 2018. Has no knees. Struggles when you get him to the third period. Fix is one of the best par terre wrestlers in the world, and while Lee is great at working turns and finding leverage to execute said turns, Daton is too good on the ground for it to be effective. Heck Lee wouldn't get to Fix's legs. Would they be exciting matches? No. They'd be 4-2 snoozers. But Fix wins these. And I don't think it's particularly close.

4 years ago it's a different argument. When Lee still has one good knee. But the world is different now. Enjoy watching Spencer Lee while you can, because we probably won't see him after March. Which is a shame, as he is a lot of fun to watch.
