I love his game. Would take him over any PG we have (excluding Braden Smith, assuming he's still UK bound).
7 million is the rumor but I thought boogie fland quit last year.
Hard to imagine he's worth that if he's not good enough to start over Acuff at Arkansas.
He actually shot pretty well until January (which could be argued as vs bad competition), not good in January before his injury, and then not well at all when he returned (as you might expect).

The whole 7 million thing was false. People have said he isn’t even asking for half of that.
He can improve shooting as a professional in workouts. His issue is he's small. 6'2 is tiny in the modern league. Unless you youre Steph curry type of shooter than can move without the ball or have the strength like Brunson or Mitchell. I mean Jamal Murry is 6'4 and was struggling in those trees last night. He's never gonna be more than a second round pick imo. Might as well milk NIL and college while it last.
Yeah, most people want to dump on Fland because of how badly he shot when he came back from the HAND injury, but what most people don't understand is, if a shooter takes even just 1 week off away from basketball, he's not going to be able to hit the broad side of a barn for a while. Rust sets in really fast, even when you're as good as these guys are.
Is Kentucky involved in the Fland sweepstakes? Theirs stories saying yes.

I would take Fland over Lowe any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Pope should get Fland and let the chips fall.

What’s fland shown? Inefficient on all levels. Lowe did it on a much worse team
What did fland prove? Fland is all potential. Lowe has 2 years of production that shows he can play
How often did he catch fire after that game?
Heck, I've taken multiple years off of golf and basketball only to fire it up and catch fire for one day, but that's not sustainable for most people.
It’s not al that far fetched to see a guy get rusty after months off due to a hand injury.
If you go by that neither has proved a thing. Lowe was the only decent play on a **** team and couldn't defend or shoot. To flat out say he was flat out better is a joke. I can get saying they are the same.
A second team all conference player with 2 years of proven success is better than a freshman who has potential. Thats not a joke, your still very much in the cal mindset
A freshman? Guy already played one season in the best league we have.
That makes a lot more sense to me. He will get paid a top player price which should be around 3 million or so.
I wouldn’t mind having both. That’s an elite back court and best in the nation arguably when you bring a guy like Aberdeen and Jasper off the bench. I don’t see any way to keep all these guys happy with PT though. I’d hate to lose the guys who want to be here beforehand.
Arkansas was better when he wasn’t on the floor. Yes boogie fland was a freshman.
when healthy he was very successful at Arkansas? When healthy they were about to chase Cal off, as I recall.
You said the reason we shouldn't want him is that he is an unproven freshman but he wouldn't be that next season.

Unless Oweh leaves, there’s just no more room at guard, IMHO. Not for a guy that expects to start Day One. And this guy wants to be PG1 for whichever team he goes to, and we already have our PG1 with Lowe.
Even if we lost Oweh to the NBA, we need a wing scorer to replace him, not another guy who is best with the ball in his hands.
An addition like this might look good on paper, but it’s the kind of thing where it could cause more harm than good.
I love having a rotation of Lowe/Aberdeen/Johnson at the PG.
And a rotation of Oweh/Aberdeen/Johnson/Chandler/Williams on the wing is excellent as well.

Mike Miller is his agent so I'd say the Florida rumor has some legs to it. Likely not a 7 mil NIL deal but Miller being an alumni it's probably a sweet package.
