Anyone see who wrote this article, or at least updated it? Maybe he can pull some strings on the recruiting front.

Flo just dropped their 2028 big board with a couple absolute hammers at the top that PSU is supposed to be in on. Sanchez and Howard are 2 kids we need to put the FuLl CoUrT pReSs on for.
Of the names we've discussed here before:
1 Sanchez (CA 125)
2 Howard (NY 165-174)
7 O'Farrill (McCort 184)
9 Hazelett (IN 285)
10 Hutcherson (Kiski 197)
11 Hoare (Dubois 285)
27 Karenbauer (Grove City 125)
28 Gallegos (Dubois 133-141?)

Long Island represent! Not often do we see too many LIers on the top 100 let alone #2!

@El_Jefe Is this 2028 class supposed to be a big or small class for PSU do you think? It seems like PSU has been strongly tied to like 5 of the kids in the top 11 (Sanchez, Howard, O’Farrill, Hutcherson, and Hoare). I know a lot can change by the time these kids are committing but it looks like it could be incredible class for PSU. The top 2 are studs everyone knows about but O’Farrill really impressed me at Fargo and Super 32. He’s a McCort kid though so maybe VaTech pipeline continues?

With his sister having gone there, I always penciled Karenbauer in for Iowa. But with the recent commitments there not so sure now.

Hoare is underrated on this list

Well, Penn State only has three wrestlers scheduled to end their careers after this season. Looks line a small class, barring transfers.

Wouldn't the 2028 class be impacted by LL, Welsh, Barr, Kasak and Davis graduating? Garcia as well, but not sure if he's on scholarship. Assuming Kaasak and Davis finish their redshirts this season. Another assumption would be the number of 2027 commits equals the number of current juniors that move on.

I was impressed by O'Farrill as well.....but I think he is too short to be highly successful at an upper weight in the Big 10.

IMO we'll target a bigger class and hopefully get it. Though I haven't looked at 2029 at all for comparison.

Not sure if Hoare or Hazelett will be the HWT, but I do think we'll target them.

Also not sure about recruiting O'Farrill since his height/length aren't the usual. He's Quentin Wright trapped in Gabe Arnold's body. That'll be interesting to watch.

The scholarship part is now irrelevant, except in terms of financial incentive. Roster mgmt is now about the 30-head limit.

#30 Jo Jo Burke’s sister is currently at Penn State. Kid is a hammer. Father was a former All American wrestler for Seaton Hall in NJ.

Good point. So replace 30 scholarships with 30 roster spots and the point remains. It looks to be about 5, but it's way to early to know who's added in 2026, 2027, who leaves...

The athletes that were on roster already don't count against the 30 they were grandfathered in until they graduate. So the "30" won't actually be a thing for a few years

Interesting. I thought I read something about that which is why Okie state could have such big classes. It's fun to talk about , but Cael is always way ahead of things. Is 2026 then the first class that will start to count against the roster limit?

2026 will be first full class to count. If you signed before April 7 2025 then you don't count this year. Anyone who signed after that date would count this year.
