Do us a favor. Volunteer for a safety dummy experiment. Wear a seat belt the wrong way ( as you describe) and see if there is a difference when you crash as wearing it the proper way ( over his shoulder) let us know the results . If not shut up and obey the law as written.

Why does the government deserve $550? My thought is this in the situation that he brought up. If a guys safety belt is on the wrong way in his car, is it going to affect anyone else but himself? Is this hurting the safety of the general public in any way? The answer is no. Seat belt laws are fine, not worth a fine. There is a fine line between saying you have freedom, and having actual freedom.

I get speeding tickets if it is "excessive" 15+ over on the interstate or 10+ over in residential. If it is less then that it should be a 3 strike warning, or something similar before you have to pay the government fees. They already rob us blind in taxes for (SOME NOT ALL) **** that we don't want to pay for.

So let me say this one more time... Many people work to survive, and don't have extra money to save and invest. You really think making these people pay $550 to the government for a law that only affects themselves is going to help society in any way? If so I'd really like to know how.

I am not saying that I don’t agree , other countries have strict standards when it comes to seatbelts compared to the US . I was in Mexico visiting friends and I was a passenger in his jeep I was not wearing a seatbelt we drove by a cop he flipped around and gave me a ticket, 3500 pesos which is about 250 American. I am not a big seat belt guy but I wear one in Mexico when I visit the people. The guy in Australia knew the punishment.

I am okay with it if they aren't sending traffic ticket fines like CB traffic light cameras. It is absolutely ridiculous to have to pay the government money for some of the bull **** those cameras pick up.. If they give you a warning or something that isn't a financial burden, and it is used to catch legitimate law breakers... I guess I'm alright with it?

The ACLU has a campaign to "Get the Flock out" I'm not saying it's easy, but throwing up our hands on an issue that is not even legislated into law seems pretty surrender-ish (new word! lol).

ACLU, you say? This is where that image of the political spectrum pops into my head. Some issues (the ones that political media and politicians do not get the sheep all fired up about) the people on the extremes are going to agree on, although maybe for different reasons.

I have no reason to doubt him. I’ve always known him to be extremely honest. Every school bus I see in my area activates their flashers before they’ve stopped.

Even if multi-lanes if the road is not divided (such as a median between the lanes) then all traffic must stop when the stop signal is on. If it was a divided highway then your buddy will

I understand the multi lane deal BUT when the camera is activated the split second the flashers come on and you’re already directly across from a still rolling bus that’s BS.

It’s absolutely BS regardless. No kid is getting off the bus and crossing multiple lanes of traffic. Traffic going the opposite direction of the bus multiple lanes away there is no danger.
