What is the bottom win total you can foresee?

What's the highest total you can see realistically playing out?

Personally I dont remember a season where those 2 things had such discrepancy.

I can see as low as 4 wins or as many as 9. A lot of coin flip games on the schedule.

I can palm an 8' ceiling standing flat-footed on the floor, so I can do it, and spell ceiling correctly 😉

Matt Rhule has made Nebraska the hottest program in USA. Nebraska now ranks number 8 in top revenue per program.

It is not silly...it would be chaos to keep a guy that can't get NU where it should be...
Giving up too early on guy who makes needed staff changes creates chaos. We should have learned that lesson with Frank. Frank had big problems but he would have never taken us to the depth Frost did. Tom’s personal dislike of Callahan kept him from letting him fire his DC. We need to learn from history. It’s just too bad Pelini couldn’t keep his sheet together.

Bo should still be here, the chaos with Bo was the fans that were scared of him. He can't hurt you.

Rhule has made staff changes BECAUSE he is the chaos, he creates it. You don't want chaos? Get rid of the guy causing it.

I have to agree with SuperBig a little. Rhule has had chaos, and he is directly responsible for every poor choice made.

He gets a mulligan over the Raiola deal, was a deal destined to fail, but most supported it.

His initial staff outside Donnie were not good choices either for the most, and his 3 best hires all are gone.

Rhule creates his own chaos, and if you remember Maxwell Smart and Agent 99, Chaos will never win.

Agent 99 was kinda hot too!

Exactly...Rhule is the cause of the chaos.

8 wins top
4 wins bottom

I would actually be satisfied with 7 wins, assuming the better teams on our schedule are what they are supposed to be. I mostly want to see us win out against the bottom half of the B1G, and get one more from somebody better than that. The one better would put as at 7 with this schedule.

I agree with this. I am not a fan of Rhule at all and he is responsible for the mediocrity we have seen. Nevertheless, he is better than Riley/Frost, has at least taken us to two straight bowl games, has hired some exciting new coaches, and is putting together a great recruiting class for 2027. Do we really want to pull the plug on that and end up with yet another head coach? We would need a new coaching staff too and it would be another reset. We would also likely lose a big chunk of the recruiting class. Not to mention his huge buyout. The only scenario I can see where I would support firing him is if we go 5-7 and we start to lose some of our most important recruits. A lot depends too on how competitive we are even in our losses. If we get totally embarrassed three or four times this season, and then lose to some teams like Maryland or Rutgers then things will get ugly with the fanbase and might spiral out of control.

All that said, there is the further issue of just who we would get as a new coach. Who the hell would want this job? The national perception is that we are a has been program living in the past with stupidly high expectations that do not consider our disadvantages, which puts so much unrealistic pressure on any coach that it becomes impossible to get anyone good to come here short of coughing up 15 million a year or some stupid thing like that. Realistically I see us going 7-5 this year. And that is good enough for me.
