Who would have thought ? Napier given vote of confidence by AD today.
We have been known for a long time to save coaches jobs, saving other teams seasons and help other teams regain their confidence. I hope Auburn’s win saves Freeze’s job as well. They should send thank you cards to Stoops.

I think that is a good call personally. For us. Did just enough to keep his job for now. Get him back in the loss column with an L next season against UK in Kroger Field.

I think Napier has upside with a lot of underclassmen on that squad, especially Lagway and that freshman RB.

Also, said in other posts throughout the season that Napier may not be canned because of the above-mentioned talent maybe jetting with him wherever he would land.

A lot of schools are going to have to weigh that going forward. Buyouts and talent.

Do boosters and brass want to pay coaches to go somewhere else, take talent with them, or maybe they just spend some money in the portal instead?

Napier would have been a sought-after assistant/coordinator especially if he could get Lagway and some of the others to come with him. Most likely would have stayed in conference.

Getting blown out by a Lagway led Bulldog squad the next few years would have been tough to swallow.

Doesn't mean it is gonna happen again next year.
I’m not optimistic at all about next year if Stoops is back. If Lagway is healthy it likely means another beat down. We’re losing a ton of talent and experience off our defense and we always suck on offense plus we lose our AA kicker, who has been our best offensive player this season.
