There are so many awful takes in this thread it is an affront to country cooking.

Chicken Livers? Cabbage? Not eating a raw onion alongside your cornbread and beans? All the city slickers are outing themselves in here.

-hell, it's an affront to haute cuisine as well. All the best food in world cultures comes from the nasty bits.

Bunch of Nancies. When you got that hot dog at the cookout or ballgame you were eating a helluva lot worse than pigs feet I can promise you.

I can eat my weight in mussels and oysters. Just a dab of cocktail sauce or a bit of tabasco and oysters are heavenly
Take mussels plain. Load up oysters on hs with shrimp sauce with extra horseradish plus lemon juice. Sneeze a lot.

First time I had oysters was when I was around 30 & working in Alexandria, LA. Co-workers took us to a place that served nothing but oysters on hs, fries, & beer at picnic tables with red/white checkered plastic tablecloths. Make your own sauce from catsup/horseradish/hot sauce/Worcestershire sauce/lemon juice. A pitcher of beer later I'd eaten 2 dz of those suckers. I was hooked.
