Anyone getting excited about our UK football team after this game is beyond hope. Folks for you who have no clue about football and rejoice because we scored 62 point you are in for a rude awakening down the road. Without a credible defense you end up with Mummy ball. Sure you will excite the fans with great scoring drives but if your defense leaks like a crack in the dam, before long the city downstream will be underwater.

We better address our defensive problems and that starts with Stoops. He need to fire his defensive co-ordinator now or demote him to a position coach. We are not going to win shootouts against quality opponents.

But I guess I am preaching to the choir because even the uninformed UK football fan understand our defense is among the worst in college football. And that is on the coaches.

50 to 30 is better than 45-7. This team can get 30 points if the plays are called correctly. Benny and friends can do some things imo.

Of course you will. Haven't UK fans had that attitude for four or five generations. We are conditioned to lose and the administration realizes as long as the money flows they can continue down the merry road we have been on for over 60 years.

My point is without a defense you can not win in college football. You can win 4 or 5 games a season but against quality opponents with a solid defense, those points will not come. Against New Mexico State they will but we have more to worry about than a New Mexico State

Agree with the OP that Elliott should be demoted. Stoops should take over DC duties ala Mason at Vandy. The offense is getting better, now with the emergence of Stephen Johnson and Snell,
I am also impressed with Coach House and his work with Special teams, especially KO coverage, Walker gave us a TD on a punt return.

I'd rather win 3-0 than lose 50-47 but that's just me.

Always happy to get a win but logic has to prevail......... NM state is one of only 2 defenses worse than ours............. scoring on them was much much easier than scoring than it will be to score on any SEC team remaining and UL

Totally agree with OP. Yesterday was basically a loss for anyone who is looking for reasons to be optimistic. We're staring down the barrel of 2-10 or 3-9.
