I sit in Section 202 of Mountaineer Field as a season ticket holder. I am looking at moving my seats down to Row 1 of this upper deck section, but I don't know if my view will be compromised by the upper deck rail in front of Row 1. Has anyone sat in the first row of the upper deck? Is the rail a problem for spectators as far as game viewing is concerned? There are also openings in Rows 2 and 4 of this section. Thanks for any feedback!

That is a good question and I am interested in the answer. I do know that at the collesium our seats in section 8 have a rail problem - I have to sit up straight to see the corner right in front of me. We are in the first row over top of the portal area.

I sit in the first row of Section 204...love the view, however the biggest peeve I have is people will constantly walk in front of you trying to get across to their seats in another section...it's unreal. They can't have the common courtesy of walking through the concourse to their section...you wouldn't believe how many near altercations I have been involved over the years over this...

I had a season ticket in row 1 of the upper deck for several years. I wish I would not have moved to the lower seating area. The view was great and never obstructed. The rail never bothered me.

I sat first row 221 (directly across from your seats) once for that OT game vs Tex Tech a few years back and didn't find any issue with the rail itself, I actually enjoyed the increased legroom and being able to stretch out a bit! As Fingon says though we did have a few trying to shortcut it through the section, a nuisance albeit a minor one for me...I'm really on the fence as to which is better the uppers or lowers. I like both for different reasons...I'm now in 122 bout half way up and love it...I will likely bypass the seat selection process this year as I have no complaints really on location, and have some great neighbors in surrounding seats....

I have sat in the front row of the upper deck before. Although there may be some obstruction from the railing, I believe the benefit of not having people in front of you outweighs the negative.

I sat in the second row of the upper deck for years. The railing does present an obstruction from the second row, and when I first sat down there, I thought it was going to be a real problem. But strangely, I quickly was able to accommodate it with no problem. You learn to move your head just slightly, and because the rail is so thin, it's easy to avoid. By the second game in, I didn't even notice it any more.
