Minutes before that catch, I had a buddy who is a huge Pitt fan call me and point out that Pitt was up 14-0 and gonna smoke us. I intentionally waited for about an hour after the game before making my call to him, to prolong the agony he knew was coming.
Good man.

This right here

I remember the Georgia DB looking down, hopeful that GG hadn’t secured it…then walking away dejectedly when he saw that he had.

Yeah, I thought about that one also, but I really think BMF's play is often overlooked, especially in light of the play by Robinson a short time later.
Wonder if BMF has a tattoo of his catch on his chest... 😊

Not the greatest catch ever because that was Garrity vs Georgia in the Sugar Bowl but in '96 vs Northwestern Titcus Pettigrew made this REALLY amazing grab that made me think at the time we would not be missing Engram so much. I was wrong...

While the catch itself was not necessarily anything special....
Bobby Engram, MSU '95, middle screen. No time outs. He gets tackled short of the end zone, we lose.
He avoids 47 defenders and somehow manages to find the end zone.

Engram TD catch vs Michigan in 94 (after a number of years of undefeated starts and then getting tripped up in October, this got PSU over the hump)

Kenny Jackson spinarama TD in 48-14.
Chuck Herd’s 74 yard TD catch in 1974 Orange Bowl.
