But there have been a few Cutler haters here who have insisted he is a cancer without knowing facts. If the guy is such a cancer, players wouldn't want to come here.

I don't mind Jay. Is he douche bag? Yes. Is he a guys guy? No. Is he the best QB we've ever had. Arguably, yes. Is he the best QB that we can get? Yes.

The best thing that happened to him and his career is John Fox. Not Adam Gase.

Cutler is no McMahon in the Bears huddle. McMahon demanded all 10 players in the huddle put the opposition on their *** with each and every play.

If you failed to do it, then McMichael, Hampton or Ditka would make it clear to you.

Jay has the physical tools of a top 5 QB. My issues with Jay were decision making, mechanics and $54M guaranteed (3 years ago). Probably somewhere in bottom 3rd of QB pack.

Today, still has tools, improved decision making, still could improve on mechanics and today has no guaranteed money coming (favorable contract terms to bears). Probably somewhere near middle of QB pack.

So, looking at bears QB situation today, not that bad. Could it be better? Yes. Has Jay fulfilled his potential? Not yet. Can bears win with Jay? Yes, with right team around him (I.e. Denver bronco's).

Can't hold contract against any player, he was offered and accepted that is a management problem, not a Cutler problem. I also have it from a very reliable source that he is all about Jay off the field!

Good point on the contract. Don't know much about jay off the field but, seems like a good family guy. I never liked jay's on-field demeanor (kinda poutie). However, given the current coaching staff, I suspect we will be OK at QB.

Really like Howard, Whitehair, Braverman picks. Also a fan of the Floyd selection. Vic Fangio was enamored with him, and I trust a coach of his caliber in drafting for scheme. Also a physical freak...

Every year guys get up on that stage, look the American public in the eye and say they're happy to be going to Cleveland.
If you were making the kind of money they will make doing something you love you'd be glad to be going to Cleveland too. Don't ******** me. Playing in the big leagues is all that matters...not where you play.

Bears go 12-4 this year and Cutler is the MVP. They'll lose in the NFC Championship to Carolina. It'll be Carolina/New England with New England winning it all.

Haha, not smoking just really hungover. Here is how the division will go:

Bears 12-4
Packers 11-5
Vikings 10-6
Lions 6-10

NFC North is the best division in football right now. Bears are remarkably better via Free Agency, Draft and Coaching. Their schedule isn't hard. Look at John Fox's coaching history, the 2nd year at every team he as coached has made a significant jump in wins and losses. The numbers don't lie. Just remember who said it first when they do go 12-4 and make the NFC Championship game and lose to Carolina.

Elway had a choice which is a big difference. The Yankees were ready to pay him good money to sign. He was drafted in the second round of the 1981 MLB draft...ahead of Tony Gwynn I might add. Without that do you really think he would have put the pressure on like he did? Neither do I. Things would have been a lot different without that Yankee card. He could have walked away from football and done pretty well financially and who knows? To think otherwise is naive. But your point is taken. I doubt he ever really wanted to play baseball.

It's the NFL and every year there is a team(s) that make significant jumps. With Fox it wouldn't shock me to see the Bears make a nice jump. IMO, this team tops out at 10 wins and that would be great.

One more point I'd like to make about the "going to Cleveland" idea is this. Ask Jordan Lynch if he wouldn't mind going to Cleveland.I am very sure he would be very happy with a shot at playing in Cleveland.
