The fall of the Roman Empire was not a sudden fall. It was a slow deterioration full of apathy and dysfunction, and then one day it was gone.
No actually if you're paying attention it went really f****** fast because they would not do anything to advert it

I appreciate your picture. I just recently lost my Great Dane and my Pit is 12 years. Been trying to talk the old lady into 3 dog rotation to save my heart but this damn program is taking a toll

And I wasn't going to get another dog long story short . One of my best friends and Neighbors 75-year-old lady got dementia she had a four and a half year old Spaniel I spent time with was not going to let her go to the animal shelter so I took her into my house. So now I have another dog as of November of this year

So we should just ignore the 2027 class he recruited because it doesn’t fit your narrative? Also, I didn’t say he gets a free pass this season. If they woefully underperform, which I don’t believe they will, then he should have to answer for it to some degree. It would definitely put him on the hot seat, but that still doesn’t mean I fire him without a very high end replacement being readily apparent(which I don’t see anyone that remotely fits that right now).

I also said that if the 2027 class fell apart i would back of my stance quite a bit. However, did I not just list a consider amount of very high end recruits from 25-27 coming together in that room when they get there? Add in a couple legit transfers and that could make for a damn good team.

if Brands can’t produce with that, I wouldn’t be surprised if he retired before you could get him fired…
Do you feel like they “woefully underperformed “

I am talking about March. Coming into this year Brands has been fantastic in duals and no one seems to care. So, this year it seems their training practices have been different and the focus is no longer being near peak early in the season to win them. If it culminates with as healthy of a team as possible going into March I will be plenty happy that some adapting has occurred.

I think this is probably the most important March for Brands in his entire career. Gotta get past the damn injuries and peak when it matters most. With that said, I will say I am concerned with Ayala and Bailey. Ayala has proven he can really turn it on in March so I am still optimistic, but Bailey could be another Teemer. After that, 165-184 is a murderer’s row and Williams is starting to look like 157 could be added to that. Kueter is what he is, but he should still finish on the podium. Block is in the mix as well. 125 has an incredible amount of parity, but Terry is so good at getting guys to perform down low, so I fully expect a high finish here.

Finally, Endene has been one of the brightest surprises for the season. Hopefully, what is holding him out isn’t serious and he can keep the momentum going into March.

In the end, college wrestling=March…

Everything you said was already refuted at the beginning of this topic, along with tons of what Bob said and all the ACTUAL figures I have given.

As far as egging you on goes, the post I responded to where I brought up egging you on speaks volumes as to how well I was doing....

The simple truth is you are a crybaby, whiner and you don't deserve the Iowa wrestling program. Is Iowa perfect under Brands? Absolutely not. Are they considerably better than you portray? Absolutely.

Under Brands they have had a Finalist EVERY season. Until a couple of years ago they averaged MORE AA's than even PSU, per season. All of this has been done while the money gap between the 2 programs is MASSIVE and EVERY indication is that the athletic and compliance departments have NOT allowed Iowa to do some of the things PSU has done to get where they are now and what OkState is now doing.

Keep on whining and ignore what those actually close to the program on here clearly point out. It isn't like these guys are all Brands apologists. They simply know MUCH MORE than you about the character of the coaches and what they are allowed to do.

Thanks for this, I needed a good laugh today!
I am not sure what you are talking about. It was made clear that 3 years ago the playing field is now level.

Its sad if that is the case with Bob. If so then he isnt one of us. And I wont be held hostage by his checkbook and the Bushwacker twins.

But being an AD and a coach is constantly selling yourself and the program to potential donors. Thats what a lot of it is. Barta was really good at asking for money. Iowa has a few billionaires and many many millionaires. When one Bob decides to leave another will enter. Iowa wrestling didnt pack up and stop existing after Carver passed away in the early 80's.

Nobody is bigger than the program. PERIOD

Next coach needs to call up Stines, Albaugh and on and on down the list. Guys that sheet out the Bob's of the world. And who knows...the next coach might just more likeable and land a bigger fish or more.
Whoever, can get Albaugh to donate to Iowa wrestling, deserves a big raise.

I don't think most people comprehend the difference when talking about millionaires compared to billionaires. Me giving $200 to the HWC would have the same effect on my overall wealth % wise as if Richison gives Okie State wrestling 2 or 3 million dollars. Think about that. Ashton Kutcher doesn't happen to like Iowa wrestling by chance?!
A million equals 15 seconds. A billion equals 125 years.
