I don't have to worry about the cat murdering another human being or turning into a disgrace to the human race. Or it driving a car. Or having to buy new clothes for it all the time. Having to put it through school. Day care. I don;t want to even think of all the other horrible things that come with having children.

Those people had parents that owned cats.

This ancient internet nugget is still the gold standard.

Reminds me of the "Don't even Reply" email series where this guy trolled people on craigslist for a couple of years. Here is one about cats.

Warning: The following post contains graphic images. If you are offended by the sight of food-dye, corn syrup, and ground beef, you may not want to read this.

Humane "hav a heart" traps for kittens needed
There are some kittens in my neighborhood that need to find good homes. I need a trap 4 the cats to help bring them in. Please email me if you have a trap (and a heart)! From Me to *********@********.org:

Hello,

Are you still looking for a trap for cats?

Mike

From Deb ******* to Me:

Yes I am can you help me?

From Me to Deb *******:

I most certainly can! I believe this trap is for those who want to "have a heart." I used it to catch a stray cat that kept coming into my garage. It is called the KittyHugger. All you have to do is put some cat food on the trigger, and when the cat comes to eat it, the trap gently contracts into a hugging position and comfortably hugs the cat until you come back to deal with the little guy. Please let me know if this will work.

Mike

From Deb ******* to Me:

Mike- I have never heard of a trap like that. I was referring to the "Havahart" traps...you know like the cages for animals?? Do you have any pictures of the trap? I'd like to see how it works before I get it. Thanks.

From Me to Deb *******:

Absolutely. I've attached a picture of it. Sorry if it is a little messy; I haven't cleaned the trap in a while.

From Deb ******* to Me:

YOU'RE SICK!

From Me to Deb *******:

Excuse me?

From Deb ******* to Me:

You killed that poor cat OMG

From Me to Deb *******:

I didn't kill the cat. I told you it was a little messy. The last cat I caught knocked over the bowl of juice I gave him so he wouldn't get thirsty. As you can see, it made quite the mess. I assure you this trap is 100% safe and humane.

From Deb ******* to Me:

IT OBVIOUSLY IS NOT SAFE. IT IS COVERED IN BLOOD

From Me to Deb *******:

You've clearly never seen a juice spill before. You have a twisted imagination if you think that is blood. I guess you don't want the trap.

Before you give up on me, I have one more trap you may be interested in. I actually think it is one of those Have a Heart traps you were talking about, though I've never heard it called that.

Please see the attachments. As you can see from the pictures, the kitty will have plenty of room to be safe and comfortable. It comes with a black tube at the end that is used to pump warm air into the cage to keep him warm while he waits to be released.

I'm sorry I didn't have time to clean the trap. It is still a little messy because the last cat I had in there spilled his bowl of juice and his cat food. It went everywhere!

Wow can't you read the ad you sick jerk? I DON'T WANT TO KILL THEM

How you managed to turn that trap into a bloody mess is a mystery to me but keep the hell away from me!!!

I was born with an innate hatred for cats.

Not only did I immediately hate their demeanor and stupid faces...my body quite literally rejects their presence. After being near cat hair or dander my lungs close rapidly, my throat swells shut, and my eyes itch worse than two three day unwiped anus holes.

I guess I've just always been able to recognize evil.

Cat owners...........know that they would joyously kill you and your loved ones given the chance. End them before they end you.

Heed my warning.

OP, ignore these boneheads - cats are great pets (of course, I used to have 2 dogs AND 2 cats AND 2 kids - no dogs anymore, for now). First, cats are constantly going to 'fight' with each other, even if they're just playing. It's what they do. We have three and it seems like every other night one is chasing the another around the house and hissing. Sometimes it gets real and a cat ends up with a pretty bad scratch. They'll get over it and the pecking order will be established. Second, a laser pointer will tire that little kitten out in about 3 minutes a day. Ours also like to play with strings. If yours do, too, walk around the house dragging a string for a few minutes and the cat(s) will follow and pounce, i.e., tire themselves out.

Two of our 3 cats LOVE me. Always wanting to be near me, in my lap, on the back of the couch behind my head, etc. and just purring up a storm. Why some people think cats don't have personalities is beyond me. Maybe cats are just really good judges of people. The third cat is my wife's (won't purr for anyone but her) and tolerates me and will play some but, for the most part, only wants to be near my wife.

Given an ultimatum, I'd probably side with dogs but, in our current situation in life, they're too much trouble when/if you travel and the twice a day walks and going to the bathroom in all kinds of weather, etc. Love 'em but they take time and patience and work. Cats are just much easier.

When I introduced a new kitten the others started acting stupid-pissing all over stuff, clawing the furniture, fighting, hissing, spitting, guarding litter boxes...I "thinned" the herd and for some reason the others starting minding their manners, but they avoid the hell out of me now. Cats are stupid and If it wasnt for the wife, I would have none. JMO

I set up one of those motion activated water sprayers to keep them away from my front door. It works, but it's probably sprayed me more than the damn cats. The goddamn things now **** in an area of my backyard. Cat owners who let their animals run wild are scum.

Those who do not understand cats should never own them. Those who do understand them....would never even have to ask. A cat is much more intelligent animal than a dog. It is is much more individualistic and relies much less on owners for support. The cat does not need to be catered to as much as a dog which is where many of you idiots fail to see

Well, in their defense, they do keep mice and snakes away. I couldnt count how many times Ive seen the cats outside carrying dead mice and snakes around. There is a feed store with grain silo fairly close and a bunch of big fields. Damn rodents would prolly carry us away if not for the cats. Its give and take I guess...

Cats don't bark. I tried to train one the kids had when they were little, he never would bark so I put him in a box and shook the dog snot out of him time and time again. He still never barked but he started to crap on top of my car engine and it stunk to high heaven after running for a while. I shook him up more and more until he started to crap on my neighbors engine. I left well enough alone because he quit crapping on mine...I think my neighbor poisoned him but I never held it against him...

We've got a German shepherd and a Maine coon. They're both ok. The dog is a pain in the *** but loves us. The cat is ok and not a tremendous attention *****.
