suggest installing some anti-tip steering equipment on the Schooner before the end of the season ?
Today makes it twice I've seen on a National broadcast this happening. Not only is it dangerous it is not a good look for OUr great tradition

Well, at least we didn't lose this time like we did when it happened at the Orange Bowl

What year did the Schooner tip over @ the OB ? I remember the year they banned it from the field when we lost to Washington and the game we lost to Debby in Norman & it ripped the old turf and the halting of the game to do a duct tape repair in the horrible years post Switzer...

I think I'm mistaken. I was thinking it tipped over during the Washington game, but I believe you're right; we were just penalized for them coming on to the field.

I remember a home game where Tulsa had a miniature Sooner Schooner they pulled around on the field after Tulsa TD's, and deliberately tipped it over every few yards. It was insulting, but funny at the same time.

Yes I admit my memory of that incident was faulty... CO not Nebbish !
I remember it was Gibbs at Coach but had to use Soonerstats to find the score of that game, a loss to the puffs 27-10 and a few weeks later to Neb 21-7.
Those were the days when I was still changing a few diapers and/or watching a lot of old Disney VHS tapes...

It was sad to see the wheels give way on the final turn...on wet turf. It rained pretty hard for about an hour in the very early hours. Felt it very disturbing that some found this humorous. It pissed me off in many levels...especially the ABC jack *** on halftime highlights show. Hope karma bites him in the SEC testicles...or *****.

Blame it on the rain? Why didn't it turn over the previous times it made it's loop? Because the radius was too tight, that's why. Homie was driving a top-heavy covered wagon, not his Honda Civic. With proper safety training and less hot-dogging for the ladies, it could have easily been avoided. Chalk it up as another entry into the Ruf Neks Embarrassment Hall of Fame.

Life is too short to get all emotional about it (unless you were on-board the wagon).

I'm no engineer, but that wagon appears to suffer from a similar design flaw as the 3-wheelers that preceded today's ATVs (as well as my tricycle when I outgrew it). It either needs a wider wheel base, or the body needs to sit lower in the chassis (see pic), both of which may present other safety concerns, plus a reduction in turn radius.

i didn’t find it funny but why in the world would they take it out knowing the fields condition? I don’t pay any attention to any of those jackasses that are owned by Disney or CBS as all of them go around kissing the SEC/Big10 ***. Gary Danielson goes the extra mile and does the front side completely bypassing the asses.

There was an article from CBS this morning suggesting Penn State should pass OU in the AP poll. It just never ends with these SEC / Big 10 clowns. FOX needs to step up its game and start taking viewership away from both those bias clowns.

i was at the 85 OB when the ruffneks thought we'd scored on a Lasher FG and trot the schooner out, but the 3 was nullified by penalty as i remember. sooo we get the delay of game flag (kinda bs but whatever) and then miss the longer FG. same game where buster rhymes fielded the KO at the one then momentum carried him outta bounds. whole game was like that. sucked. heard later the king let the guys do whatever that week and sure enough they played like it. actually best part of the trip was seeing my buddy think he had picked up this smokin hot chick at the hotel's NYE roberta flack concert....then found out she was an escort. and occupied to boot. so the guy comes over and tells my buddy in front of us, "hey let me get my money's worth first then you can do whatever." holy crap we died laughing.

Way too tight of a radius. Mean old center of gravity at play.

I suggest a new Sooner tradition. The Sooner Hay Ride Trailer.
That’s was the 1984 season....It did not turn over....it came onto the field prematurely after a penalty on a FG try and was penalized 15 yards...OU then missed the FG.

It did turn over in the 93 season in a game against Colorado.

OU issued a statement that blamed unequally weight distribution for this years turnover....but clearly the driver cut the curve way to sharp and at to fast of speed.

Traber want the Sooner Schooner banned...

IMHO OU should revoke Traber’s media credentials and take a page from Gundy and stop its coaches from going on air with Traber and anyone who still works with Traber on air.

Taber just said that he loves OSU which is fine but it’s the first time I have ever heard him say that....

No wonder he doesn’t miss opportunity’s to take shots at OU, its media and its fans.
