I am done supporting the team but I am not done wanting Stoops fired. That is what I will continue to post about.
Spot on. This is how most of us feel. The ones or who are done at least. I'll keep supporting the program but we need stops gone now at the end of this season if we don't then we're doomed we're obviously destined to a 4-8, maybe even a 3-9 season.

The only hope many people have remaining rests in getting a new head coach. Therefore I would imagine that is what most of the discussions on this forum will revolve around going forward. It is beyond obvious at this point that Stoops isn't the man for this job. If the fans aren't discussing that, then this entire forum would look like a ghost town because they sure as hell aren't interested in discussing the crappy product the current coach is putting on the field.

I'm not a sunshine pumper. We all know why some people post on this board. They only come out after losses. We all know who they are.
Only coming out after losses means you are pretty much posting all season and definitely get to post all winter/spring/summer. Idiot.

This is like accusing someone of only posting on days when the sun comes up. Get your head examined.

Quality players want to play for a proven coach that can get them to the next level, sure the college name does play into the factor but its mainly the coach. Kids come to play for Cal because he has proven to get them to the next level, Kentucky happens to be the school. Point being made here is until we get a big name proven coach that bigtime players want to play for what we see is what we get. All the stadium/ facilities dont mean squat until you get a coach to draw the players. Barnhart is who we thank for that

Who cares? Even Stevie Wonder can see this football program has major issues and is not heading in the right direction. Let's recap:

Stoops and co blew a 35-10 lead and gave up 34 unanswered points to c-USA Southern Miss and our former fired OC Shannon Dawson. Let me repeat, Shannon Dawson and his mid-major talent hung 44 points and almost 600 yards on us.

Our oline couldn't block a conference USA dline and our d-line couldn't get penetration on a c-USA oline in the second half.

We couldn't stop their running game when we knew it was coming (they were basically running the same play) and they had several 100 yard rushers.

Our SEC defense couldn't stop them from scoring.

We had yet another special teams mishap.

The coaches have shown 0 ability to make 2nd half adjustments and have been outcoached yet again.

I could go but you get the point. Year 4 in this process we should be fundamentally sound at the least. Instead, we are still lost, lining up wrong, lacking effort, disorganized and getting dominated by S Miss.

But, hey, we're just getting started, bro!

That's golden. Questioning other football fans fandom because of what we witnessed last night. We'll get 'EM next time! Great first half coach! Let's build on that, and pretend like we didn't get used as a mop on our home field in the 2nd half against a conference USA team. Go team.

I'm there too. I thought Stoops was a proven coach even if not an HC.

Off topic, but is that DJ Eliot vs. Shannon Dawnson in avatar?

What's a maroon?

I have to admit that I cracked up when I read that too. The game really got to me and I don't mean to be a jerk at all but when you try to put somebody down by calling them a moron and mis-spell it and call them a maroon that's funnier than hell.

Maroon is a 40s/50s term for goofball/moron. Just in case you were confused.

Lot of football left to play. I'll continue making my personal evaluations as I always have...at the end of the season. To me, it's not so much losing, but how you lose. Last night was terrible.

I was just having a little fun to try and forget last night. I said I didn't mean to be a jerk but if I offended you I'm sorry. Being a UK football fan is difficult so go easy on me. It was just a joke man.

Oh, you didn't offend me. I honestly thought you didn't know the term. I've had students who didn't recognize that term either. Just helping to clarify. :)

All good with me. I got your point when I read it and I laughed a little for the first time since the long TD bomb before halftime. Watching UK football is about the same as watching Bugs Bunny at this point.

In all honesty, there is a part of me that knows I can't give up on the Cats forever. I'll be back, but with this season falling off the rails in game one, with little chance for success, I am just looking for some good college football to watch this year. I guess it's more of a break until I see some real change in the program. I just don't see any major changes coming if they are still making money. UK doesn't need a project coach, they need experience, the SEC is so hard to crack as it is, especially with inexperience at HC. I'm just not sure they can get a home run hire.

I am at a new low for disappointment with this latest loss,we were up 35-10 and lost(let that sink in for a moment) How can you do enough dumb stuff in one half of football to lose a lead like that,if you were able to get it in the first place?

I will continue to watch(for now) it is harder than some of you think to quit something you have done for damn near 60 years. This is almost like a throwback to the late Bradshaw/Ray era, when you knew we were going to lose but you just didn't know how we were going to do it this week.

As several have said in other threads you can see it coming in two or three key plays(the dropped interception or the pass interference penalty when the catch was overturned) that is/has been UK football for 60 years.I don't have a clue (nor does anyone who has coached here) how to fix it.

Yup. Before last night I was willing to give Stoops a chance but you just can't lose that game. And the way we lost it was in embarrassing fashion. I'm officially off the Stoops train. I just hope he doesn't embarass us too much more before hes canned.
