I started on the AOL boards in 1995.

Then I found this site in 1997 (first as Wildcat Chat, then Kentucky Sports Report, and finally Cats Pause in 2002). I’ve been on UK message boards for 28 years — almost exactly half of my entire life.

January 12, 2003.

9,400 posts

Have been Paddock only for at least 11 years.

My least favorite memory was people refuting takes based on low post counts

Still don't know how to post a jpg file.

Yep. I remember logging in here about every 15 minutes hoping for updates on the Darius Rice recruitment. That is how old I am. Probably only guys over 40 know what the hell I am talking about.

I clicked on this thread, even though I’m NOT old. 😆

I just checked and it seems I’ve been on this site just one month short of 20 years. Yikes! Of course my total time is more like 28 years. I started out on Wildcat Chat. That site run by Steve, Babs, Darrell and Keith. Not sure how many folks remember that. I think that site changed ownership a couple times until it wound up here.

That is the site I started on. I'm almost 42 and was probably 18 then. Posted there for a couple of years and took a near 20 year hiatus. Remember I posted under Monster mash.

I’m pretty sure this was where I heard that Prince was doing his official visit for midnight madness and I made sure to go. I’m alumni (92) but worked full time while in school so I wasn’t that social. I always thought the paddock was all frat guys who knew each other but I read it because it was so funny. If the average paddock poster today stumbled in here in the old days, I hate to think how savage the response would have been.

I also started on Wildcat Chat when Darrell helped run it. Great guy. Anybody know if he's still around?

I was at that madness. The thing I remember most about Prince was that he sat there looking like a guy at the dentist waiting to get a root canal. In contrast, Dan Gadzurick (sp?) looked like he was having a blast, clapping along with the pep band and participating in the cheers. Gad went on to sign with UCLA and it turns out that perpetual stoic expression on Prince's face was just his personality.

Over 20 years. I had 2 other accounts that I lost the password to and had to start new ones. When Bret Dawson got involved I got back on because I grew up with him.
