Now Petrino’s Louisville life could be coming full circle, ending in an expensive firing with a buyout believed to be in the $6 million range, depending on the date of dismissal.

That is the key phrase. It depends on the date of dismissal (if it happens). The exact date is not known to me. Maybe someone with more insight does know.

All I've been reading is $14 million but IF the buyout is $6 million (depending on when that date is) is very important to us fans who don't want him back for next season.

Here's the link to the actual contract if anyone wants to read it... LINK

Appears that the amount is roughly three years of his salary (see "golden parachute"). And rounding off, 3 X $4 mil = $12 million.

Note that by whatever analysis this site uses, his contract ranking was #44. Presumably, that means it was the 44th most lucrative contract in college sports--hardly the windfall that Petrino/Jurich haters wanna portray...

That changes things, if accurate.

Then lets get her done and hire Brohm!

You know, I saw Greg Brohm at the game Friday. He was in his black. That family is all UofL. Not 100% on board with Jeff as HC, but it’d be kind of cool having the program run by one of its own.

I don’t have a link, but Forde and Thamel updated their article. Now saying buyout is $14M.
