That was a major gut punch, and not even necessarily because I'll miss his standalone content. I enjoyed the Masters thing and some other things he's done, but I only have the bandwidth for so many podcasts in my life so I usually just didn't get to them. I'd love to listen to Trap Draw, for instance, but I never have because I don't have time.

The real issue was you start to think of these guys like friends and family of you and each other, and it was like they alienated one of their family members. He had great chemistry with everyone and brought a lot to the podcasts, particularly the Major live shows when he was often the only one at the event.

I'm not sure what to make of why they made the decision. It seemed like a purely business decision where they needed to cut his hours for financial reasons and he chose full-time employment. It's just surprising because they've been steadily adding employees the last few years. Maybe they weren't getting much juice out of the writing, but they didn't do much to promote or market it, either. KVV should have been writing a newsletter for them a couple of times a week like The Fried Egg, Geoff Shackleford, Kyle Porter, etc. I was really surprised by the decision and agree with you that it's a loss for their brand, but we'll never know the full story.

I'm going through a similar breakup with my other favorite podcast, The Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz. Been a tough year for me and my favorite podcasts.
I agree it was a financial decision. A journalist at the level of KVV commands a healthy salary I would think, and I think they decided they couldn't pay him. I also think the writing he did for their site didn't drive traffic like they expected it to, simply because they are known more for podcasting. KVV will for sure be fine. I'm sure he'll end up writing somewhere prestigious, but I'd also like to see him do his own podcast.

Jackson Koivun is an absolute stud. I don't know the full story, but he moved from California to Chapel Hill in the middle of high school and I think they homeschooled him (i.e. let him play golf full time), but it would have been awesome if he had committed to UNC instead of Auburn.
He won me some $ yesterday

Spieth has zero chance of making the RC team. His OWGR rank is 51. He’s been just another guy for a number of years now. He peaked early in his career.

It’s a little more nuanced than that. Until like a month ago his data golf numbers had him as like a Top 8 American over the previous six months, but he’s regressed since then and won’t make it now.

Discovered this while exploring the new app. Hoping to dip my toe in on this version - didn’t venture to the ZZLP previously so want to get the vibe

Good to see Cam Young finally had a lead big enough that even he couldn’t choke it away. Congrats to him.

I feel like maybe even I could play the 18th with a 6 stroke lead and feel pretty confident. I could never get a 6 stroke lead though.

I was recently humbled on the course playing for nothing so I’m a bit more sympathetic - he should have more wins but good to see him get it done

I'd like to think I could, but the 18th at Sedgefield is not nearly as easy as those guys make it look. It's a par 5 for members, but played as a par 4 for the Wyndham. That second shot playing off a severe downhill lie, but the shot itself playing uphill would be very hard for most amateurs.

Merged the threads (which actually works on new board software, imagine that) now that egr2 is here.

I have plans in the future on editing the thread title for big events like the majors, Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup but can't do that with the merge. How should I proceed?

Start a new thread and we can just junk this one.

Its always been your thread anyway and this way you can control it moving forward

Ah, apologies then. Go ahead and create a new FORE! thread, then I’ll lock/delete this one.

Do you want me to post the screenshots from the old ZZL FORE! thread in your new one egr?

Will do on the new thread, thanks.

Re screenshots - I don't know of any but others might have one. Thanks for the offer.
