I agree all of the other are not being stagnant. Though I disagree that we have far more to do than most of the others. Some of the ones that win the games they do based on solid coaching and execution while have average talent are just a coaching change away from having 3-4 less wins per year, such as Minnesota, Iowa, and Northwestern. UCLA Purdue Maryland Rutgers Wisconsin have just as far as us to go.
from what I’ve seen it really doesn’t take much to get in the 4th-8th place range in the Big Ten, yes easier said than done. It’s not a bash on the Big Ten just saying that the differences in the 4th to 15-16th teams isn’t a huge difference. Things like show up each and every week focused and ready to play the game, be aggressive and don’t make stupid mistakes.

Those last things you mentioned, those are the biggest hurdles IMO and why I chose mountainous as my term. Nebraska has struggled with those since joining the conference. They aren’t simple fixes or changes. It’s a philosophy problem, a will problem, a pride problem, a character problem, an “it” problem. Nebraska has been a soft program that doesn’t have “it” for quite some time. I’m just not sure where we go or how we improve? We have Will Compton hype videos at the stadium about relentless violence, chaotic focus, having nasty mentality and our team is nothing close to that. Because our coaches are not that. This staff isn’t going to change who they are. Sorry to be a doomer today.

3-4 that have been on this board for far to long now hanging around

I know, more like 8-12, and it is so odd.

I have made one post on the herky board 15 years ago saying hi and where my interest lay.

Every now and then I do go read that board, but never comment, no matter how much I want to. I behave as a guest there, which is exactly what I am.

The problem with the herkys is they have never had any success in any sport but rassling, and are just so jealous of our collection of trophies.

Hell, they hang banners of bowl games they lose!!!

Iowa sucks, but embarrassing as it is, our football team sucks worse lately.

Agree completely! They brag about rasslin and women’s basketball. Then come on here to tell us nothing other than football matters, that no one cares about VB it’s not popular. If I was a Hawkeye fan I wouldn’t care about VB either I don’t know if they have ever had a wining season I do know they are 0-41 against Nebraska. For them to say VB isn’t popular, they are oblivious to the Big Ten. Everywhere other than Iowa gyms/arenas are full with loud and aggressive fans especially student sections.
those herkies are so full of **** and if it’s only football that matters to them well they aren’t really impressive at that either. Nothing to show for it, 8 wins this year with a few “we could have won” games.
