Freshman offensive tackle Lester Cotton of Alabama began his high school career in 2011 playing football and basketball at East St. Louis Senior High. As a high school freshman, Cotton played alongside another freshman by the name of Terry Beckner Jr.

Cotton then moved to Alabama:
"Nothing against East St. Louis, but it was a great move for Lester at the time," said a family member. "I work in East St. Louis and also played there. I don't want to give my name because of politics here. But the head coach at East Side just didn't and still doesn't seem to respect the tradition of past coaches, particularly Bob Shannon, who I played for back in the day. So, for Lester to get a fresh start somewhere else was great for him."

This article is trash!! This is far from the True story on Lester and in my opinion should be removed. This article spend more time talking to a Basketball Coach who NEVER coached the kid a day in his life.

That is just it, Lester don't have ANY family members that went to ESL EVER. He is a kid who moved there from Alabama for just a few years. After his 9th year he moved back. He did start for ESL as a Freshman at Left Tackle. Just think that it is sad that the person that wrote the article will stoop to whatever level. Great kid, horrible story.

I dislike anyone who use kids for their own agenda! I will always speak out against it.

Actually, I knew that I kinda did this to pull your chain a bit - a little teasing over the Adoree/Belleville flap.

I remember watching this over the summer:

I knew this was not an East Side boy. The my comment on the American, in jest. regarding the relative, shoot, I could find him with a few calls. His dumb *** gonna get fired.

LOL you got me. Just a little something I am passionate about, especially when the kids are good kids deserving not be the subject of an adult idiot!

What is also interesting is when the kid was at ESL, he wanted to be a BBall player. Him and Terry Beckner both. It wasn't until he made maxpreps top 100 Freshman that his family outlook changed. It worked for him and I am proud that he found success.

Damn, then I can only imagine the b-baller O.J. Howard would be instead of possibly being the next great TE at the next level. That seems to be Bama's MO in the playoff round, go to a next option (Derrick Henry instead of Amari Cooper last year, Howard instead of Henry this year). Sorry for the thread jack.
