Any chance we get him? I see we are his only visit so far. But would be battling Ala. and Stanford.

Not sure that bama is in the mix, Washington and Stanford are probably the front runners and he has also visited ND and USC. Our staff is working hard on him, odds aren't great but you never know.
Still intends to visit Bama---think this is Stanford/Washington but Cav is going down swinging if he goes down.
Yeah Stanford is most likely in the lead then probably Washington. I love the fact he holds his academics at just a high level but he doesn't need to worry about having a Stanford degree. He has 1st round written all over him and barring multiple catastrophic injuries he'll being playing on Sunday's in the next 5 years. If academics are more important to him than football then by all means, go to Stanford.
I'm hearing chatter its between Nebraska and Washington and that FS is extremely interested in Nebraska. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Hopefully the poster that has Foster as a student can chime in at some point. I know he said he didn't want to pressure or influence him about making a decision, but maybe he has learned something in the last month or however long its been.
There is an assumption here that Stanford doesn't coach good linemen? There are certainly no guarantees about playing in the NFL, no such thing as a sure deal with injuries and all. I would love to have the kid at Nebraska but if what we are hearing is true about academics I would recommend Stanford. I actually had a high school kid who was a good wrestler who wanted to go to Stanford. Had good ACT but needed higher. Ended up at Nebraska of all places after stellar career at local JC. He wanted to get steimger, grades were not a problem. You have to do what is best for the kid,.not your program.

Nebraska had their in-home last Saturday. Foster said Cav was at his house from 11:30 to 7 and had a great visit. Coach Cav was out here again yesterday and got out of town just before the snow hit. Foster will not commit anywhere until the Army all star game on the Jan 7th. I really don't know which way he is leaning. I think it's a 50-50 with us and Stanford, not UW. Cav's relationship with his parents and Foster should not be underestimated in this process. It's probably the main reason we are still in it.

Supposedly mom is pushing Nebraska pretty hard. Which is surprising.
Not really I believe we have a great University, facilities and fandom!
When you consider how high they regard academics it is. Just shows you how genuine these guys are when they get in the home of a recruit.
I believe redinpuyallup is one of Foster's teachers. He had some good inside info about a month or so ago and came through again today.

Indeed it is. Nebraska, no offense to the school I root for, doesn't come near the top of any academic list one could generate, "Best Academic Ranking in the B1G", "Best Academic Rating in the Nation" etc. Stanford is near the top of all of them and is a world class university. (NU clearly leads in Academic support to Athletes, but I'm talking strictly Academic prestige here).
To get his mother, who for all intents and purposes probably doesn't care as much about football advantages near as much as his non-football future (this would be typical of most mothers I think), to push for NU over Stanford is an extremely special event we're looking at.
She trusts the staff and what they will provide for her son, the fact this staff is this far with one of top 1-3 player in the country is encouraging. We should wait to see how this plays out, maybe another "Trump" type surprise.
Mom obviously loves her some Riley and Cavanaugh and wouldn't mind these men molding her son into a man the next few years.
Sarrell is talented enough to start from day 1 next year. He is the recruit I want the most. It all starts up front. We may or may not get him, but I like our chances. NU may not match up to Stanford's academics, but our academic support to our AD is second to none and our business school is on the rise. When Riley first got here he was taken to the academic support area and introduced to the staff and was absolutely blown away that he was able to have something like this that he could show to recruits and their parents. One of the staff told Riley that they had never seen a member of the prior staff bring a recruit to them and show them around.
While Stanford is all around an excellent institution, I think he has a great opportunity to go to a school of his choice for football, and do his post graduate study wherever his grades and scores take him, which might carry more merit than the undergrad. I'm pretty sure the list is extensive, but recent guys that come to mind is Sean Fisher, Curt Dukes if he would have stuck around could have gone anywhere, and the numerous students that got their undergrad at UNL, but went on to some of the best colleges in the nation for grad and doctoral degrees. Had a buddy brother that got his degree in architecture from KSU, and decided he didn't like, got his MBA from Yale. Enjoyed his time at KSU and doing okay for himself now.
Guess that's the approach I would take with my kid, but best to FS wherever he chooses.
