Bob Thompson: Interesting that former Fox Sports exec Bob Thompson said it's easier to finalize a media rights deal when it is with existing partners, because the issues will occur when you’re including a new entity and have more to negotiate. What this means to me, is that based off the timeline of about a month, real expansion moves could be happening in about a month and a half.

I’m guessing either the PAC or Big XII will eat the other, that’s all that remains to be seen at this point IMO. ACC GOR is too far away for them to see defection, and I doubt they are buyers of anything leftover from the Big XII. SEC is the king with no moves to be made, and the B1G have already made their big move.

Pac 12 is in shambles. ORWA wants out of that mess and who could blame them. The real sad issue is WSU, Ore St. Both schools actually care about their football programs and could be sent to live with MWC if the 4 corner schools all get invites. The Pac12 needs to cut loose Stanford and Cal since they are trying to ride the coat tails of UCLA and USC.

The attendance at some of these games have been absolutely beyond embarrassing. Even UCLA’s attendance is laughable and they are leaving the league.

What you said basically applies to the Big XII, where a lot of schools that care about their football programs are going to be forced to a lower level. Wouldn’t be shocked to see some combination of schools that “care” from both leagues abandon both the PAC and BigXII and unite under some other umbrella.

Ouch………

To be fair, that money is chump change for an Elite university. In the NIL era, if Stanford reallllly wanted to, could call on its alumni to basically buy out all of the talent at any moment and totally **** on the B1G and SEC’s parade.

All these Tech tycoons that want in the NFL, can easily build out a $200m payroll on the college level if they felt like it.

I'm surprised it has dragged on for this long. Obviously all parties know what each league is due to get and the Big 12 definitely know how much they will get by adding particular teams from the PAC and eventually the ACC.

Winter is coming bitches.

Nothing is going to change. Beginning to think the new commish is just another self Important blowhard.
Hopefully he can deliver but he is sounding like one of those guys who tells you about all the women he's been with but no one ever see's them.
