Fox needs it's own thread..... :) see the predictions:

Jacobs home vs South. I see Jacobs HUGE in this contest, but beware of them looking ahead to next week, South needs this if they have any hope left to make state.

Dundee home vs Huntley. Mooeney will put up another week of Allstate numbers. Dundee has a winnable game next week, start preparing early

Cary at Hampshire. Train keeps a'rollin. Look for Cary to put up big O. Skol will have votes for player of the week again.

Central @ PR. Central will try, but unless they cut Samson's hair, expect PR to put 50+ on the board. Big question, will we see if PR's defense looks like they did against us or Huntley.

McHenry vs Elgin. Out of conference special, McHenry needs this win and next week vs Central before they hit Jacobs and PR back to back, with Huntley 1 week later.I expect McHenry big here.

Love the thread but a bad week of matchups

I have
Jacobs (but no running clock)
Huntley - (by running clock)
Cary - (by running clock)
PR - (by running clock)
McHenry - it would be interesting if there was an S before Elgin (South Elgin) but alas it is just Elgin so McHenry by running clock.

Any feedback on the new JV (played on Saturday morning) and Freshmen (played on Friday night) system they introduced this year?

Wow some really tough picks this week... This conference like many others is too top heavy. Scratch:

Jacobs
Huntley
Cary
PR
McHenry

I agree that an upset would be good for balance.

Basically went exactly as expected.

Can someone from PR or Central confirm for me the CLC forfeited the JV game Saturday? If so, that's bs on Centrals part since their JV played the two prior weeks,

The NW Herald had a small paragraph in the sports section that Central did forfeit their JV game and will probably cancel them for the rest of the year. Supposedly had 10 sick kids this past Wednesday. PR JV kids went without a game.

Total BS, I got a copy of Central's Varsity/JV roster. Same amount as PR, yet some how, PR was able to field a team. I can see why this would be the D155 school they would close.

PR had the chance to play their JV kids so I don't feel too bad. I have friends on both coaching staffs, and there was the opportunity to get those kids in, instead they felt the need to sneak one more play in during the 3rd quarter, and then were throwing the ball and going for it on 4th down in the 4th quarter. Feel bad for the kids but the coaches had their opportunity to play those kids

I wasn't there, but Central has a JV team. They had no problem or issue playing weaker teams like Grant and South. PR JV beat up on us and Huntley, then Central called the game because they had an unusual amount of "sick" kids on Wed (Game was at morning). Strange flu I guess.

I don't feel bad for the PR kids, I feel bad for the Central kids. When do their soph/juniors get to play? South & PR have less kids, both seem able to have 3 teams. Are the great Raider TCYFL program not feeding this school?

I don't know about their JV team, but I was at the game Friday night and their Sophomore team was compiled up of all freshmen is what a random parent told me when I made a comment that it is a good sign for the future that their sophs won the first game of the night. Sounds like down numbers but like I said I have no clue about the JV. I heard that the varsity is already pretty young too so I wouldn't be super surprised if they really couldn't field a JV team, but either way yeah that sucks for the kids.

Also dont forget that a lot of this Raiders kids go to South too, like I believe their two very large d1 offensive line prospects are products of the Raiders. At the end of the day it sucks for the kids that are missing out on development, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. It is happening every where, I know it happened this week in the CCL Blue who had even more players than both programs.

Don't know of it happening in the blue last week. I believe BR frosh played DLS frosh because of Varsity was playing AC (much smaller school). I don't know the levels AC competes at and I don't know if BR Sophs played ACs sophs or another school. What I do know is all the blue teams field a frosh, soph and varsity team just like every year in the past. They don't do a JV game but haven't since the 70s.

Not talking just JV, I know for 100% percent that Mount Carmel backed out of playing a Frosh B to play a 5th quarter because they said they didnt have enough guys, which a lot of loyola people felt they did. I know this cause I was there
